Hey Guys

Had my car inspected today and the machanic said that the seal on the rack was leaking. I saw the spots in the drive way but didn't really think too much of it. Is it very difficult to install new seals in the rack or is this best to leave to someone that knows a little more about the system? Thanks for your help.

Are you sure its the rack and not the actual power steering lines (high pressure line likely)? These lines are crimped on and not clamped on like they should be from the factory. The factory uses 3/4 circle crimp on's in order to make assembly easier and faster.

I don't know if you can even get just the seals, and even if you can, you'll most likely need to remove the unit from the car to do it anyway. Replacing the rack is a pain, but it can be done DIY, you will need an alignment afterwards though.
