All you Chevy impala owners out there if you have a trunk lid that will not open but yet when you press your remote you hear like a clicking sound at the keyhole on the trunk, then most likely it is a broken actuator as I have put in my photo. Where the emoji finger is that is the area where the pin breaks off I got mine on eBay for $42 the dealership wants several hundred dollars much less to install it even more simple fix, 8 mm socket, two screws takes you 10 seconds to replace !

No, the actuator was the problem. The plastic pin on actuator broke off. Guess it’s a common issue. Can’t see pin until you remove it.
