I have a 2004 Chevy Impala in much need of a new Thermostat and Water Pump. How much do you think it will cost to get repaired, in the san francisco bay area, by a certified mechanic?

T-Stat is easy enough to change yourself, 2 10mm bolts IIRC,
the water pump is going to be the issue, they have to remove MOST of the accessories, and possibly drop the cradle
