I hear a rattle from the right side of the engine compartiment when starting from a stop. As soon as it gets some sped, the rattle stops. Also it is louder if I have the A/C on. My mechanic told me it is the serpentine belt but I think it's something else...tranny? Worth mentioning is the fact that the rattle is heard also when I start the car and everything is cold, once I press on the clutch/break pedal. I am welcoming any comments or suggestions as I will have the belt changed Tuesday. Thanx a lot
Sounds like a loose exhaust heat shield. If you live in the state where they use salt in the winter, it probably rusted off.
