The temp gauge on my Impala is running hot. The car has not overheated yet, because I shut it down when it the gauge showed hot. It has been doing it for a couple of days. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I could check. I've already flushed the radiator and refilled, checked the hoses/circulation...could the thermostat be stuck? water pump going out?? Thanks for any advice.

Just a suggestion that I have experienced a few times. Check the thermostat first by squeezing the upper rad hose when your car heats up. If it's rock hard or the opposite like it has no fluid in it then you might have a stuck T-stat. Chevy water pumps back in the day used to drip out of a small hole under the shaft when they were wearing out or they would howl like crazy. Another issue could be a blown headgasket, I just replaced one in a friends car and luckily enough the fluids didn't mix in the bottom end. Just thought I would add my input, hopefully it may help.
