Hello, I'm new to group. I have or rather my son owns a 01 Chevy Impala. I've been trying to get it to run. I need to replace the fuel filter. The problem is it won't start back and I think I've found the Schrader valve but it doesn't have a cap on it or a stem so how will I go about depressing the fuel line?

IIRC, and if you’re talking about relieving pressure in the fuel rail, I think all you have to do is throw a rag over the Schrader Valve while you depress the center pin with something like an Allen wrench. I remember doing this when removing the fuel rail during the Lower Intake Gasket replacement years ago. Not much fuel came out ... similar to pushing the stem on a tire valve, but with some fuel coming with it. Just cover with a rag so it doesn’t inadvertently hit you (or your son)
