when ABS light finally comes on? I drive a 2001 Chevy Impala. For the first 5 to 10 minutes after driving, there is often a humming noise from the front of the car. Sometimes when I brake I can feel the brake being pushed down slightly by the car. Never happens when going over 20mph, only when under. Happens when turning just as much as it does when I go straight. After 5 minutes usually, the ABS light comes on and the noise happens rarely, if ever.

Seems to be occurring more frequently now than it did 3 or 4 months ago when the problem started. However, sometimes I'll drive the car and it drives just fine. I'd estimate that the noise happens 80% of my car rides.

take it and have it checked out ,you may have a relief valve in the abs system malfunctioning, and this will cause the brakes to do that, any good brake shop can diagnose this and repair it for you,but if its getting worse have it checked really soon it could also be the calipers going bad on it also, good luck.
