Title sums it up my oil smells like 2 stroke mix and not just a hint of it like knock your socks off 32 or 50 to 1 smelling mix.

And my mpg sucks balls compared to most other people i mean i drive hard but normalish driving around town at like 13mpg and 18mpg on highway. According to the good old computer

Uhh i use synthetic 5w30 and k&n oil filters
Change oil every 3-4k
No out of ordinary engine noises
Maybe a little decrease in performance (hp)
Dont really see any leaks i pressure wash the engine and engine bay once a week to 2 weeks
No smoke out the exhaust pipe

(im not here to argue or justify the use of synthetic oil or k&n oil filters but if it could be the problem let me know)

Anyone know what it could be?
Thanks you guys are the best!

last time i blew a head gasket was on my supra and i dont remember the coolant and oil mixed smelling like this? all i remember was spark plugs 3,4,5,6 sitting in coolant and the thing bogging around sounding like a worked subaru.

yeah i pressure wash the thing often its definitely a big leak not just seepage.

fml i got a trans slipping nuts sack and a blown head gasket and i still think either a injector is sticking of something cause there is def. gas in that oil along with coolant proably. F*ck i hate this car. i had less problems with a 30+psi jap motor.

Me either i guess thats what you get for buying american.

whatever, but this is definitly the head gasket right guys?

When i do the head gasket im gonna pull the fuel rails and cycle the car and make sure they arent sticking at all and replace the o rings on them i dont really know whatelse to do.

A bad cam position sensor could cause this also but i dont have any check engine codes other than crank position sensor from my new computer from overkill which i never got that relearned can that be causing this? i doubt it but maybe someone knows something about it that i don't?

But the oil doesnt appear to be milky or have milky ring on the cap, no fluid coming out the exhaust, no sweet smell, no smoke, heat doesnt smell sweet, no red tint on the spark plugs.

but i am losing coolant about a quart over 3 weeks but i did fill the overflow way up for winter to work out any and all air and get really good heat in the thing so maybe the overflow overflowed and thats where it went if that is possible.

i guess i am just brainstorming here feel free to pick my brain guys.

The good news is if its not just the headgasket to solve the problem and something is warped or shot in the motor (which i highly doubt) its getting procharged or turbo'd and manual swapped. so that would be an interesting project.

Either this motor bored and stroked out to a 4.0l with a remote twin turbo setup or a pro charger.

Or a 3800 with a turbo or a ported supercharger.

Accomplished quiet easy as far as swaps go iv done harder. Dont know why it compares to a ls9 and rwd.
All id be looking for is 350hp to the front wheels

Plus i got my 98 lincoln markviii to drive around till i fix the impala. 400hp worth of ford ponies:devil:

Milzy doesnt make anything for the 3500 or 3900 iv talked to them in the past about it and they said in a few years they will have something and need test cars.
Also $5000 for a turbo kit is rediculous. I could do a remote turbo setup for about $900 that will perform just as good as that kit.

Plus that kit is based off the 3.4 which is completely different than the 3.5or3.9 lz4,lz9,lze

Now if i had a lx5 or lx9 (cant remember) 3500 3.5l like the early g6 that motor was based off of the 3.4 and 3.8.

Which that motor is an option cause you can also bolt the 3800 supercharger to that 3.5 with an adapter plate, run the bigger northstar throttle body, bigger injectors and all the supporting mods and make big horsepower safely.

Volume

That is for the lx9 not our motors.

LX9 The LX9 3500 is an OHV engine based on the 3400 V6. It incorporates electronic throttle control. Bore is 94 mm (3.7 in), stroke is 84 mm (3.3 in) for a displacement of 3498 cc (213 cu in). A GM Press Release for the 2004 Malibu described the 3500 thus: "3.5-liter V-6, will debut in the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu. The engine offers improved performance and fuel efficiency, and runs smoother and quieter than earlier generation V-6 engines. The 3500 V-6 features an advanced powertrain control module, improved fuel injection system, a redesigned exhaust manifold and a new catalytic converter contribute to reduced emissions, as well as improved efficiency and performance characteristics. Improvements in cooling, sealing and the accessory drive system add to the engine's overall quality, reliability and durability." Power output ranges from 196 hp (146 kW) to 201 hp (150 kW), torque ranges from 213 lb·ft (289 N·m) to 221 lb·ft (300 N·m). It was used in the following vehicles and model years: 2005–2006 Buick Terraza/Chevrolet Uplander/Pontiac Montana/Saturn Relay 2004–2006 Chevrolet Malibu/Chevrolet Malibu Maxx 2005–2006 Pontiac G6 Sedan / Coupe 2006–2007 Buick Rendezvous 2006 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible

Lz4 3500 is an OHV engine based on the 3.9 L LZ9 V6. It was introduced for the 2006 model year in the Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo. It includes continuously variable cam timing (fixed overlap). It has a cast iron block and aluminum heads. Output is 211 hp (156.5 kW) at 5800 rpm and 214 lb·ft (290 N·m) at 4000 rpm. Bore is 99 mm (3.9 in), stroke is 76 mm (3.0 in) for a displacement of 3510 cc. Horsepower rating changed for the 2007 model year to 224 hp (167 kW) at 5800 rpm and 220 lb·ft (298 N·m) torque at 4000 rpm. The Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6, and Saturn Aura became equipped with this engine for 2007 (previously the Malibu and G6 had the non-VVT 201 hp (150 kW) 3.5 L LX9). In 2008 SAE ratings dropped the horsepower ratings to 219, keeping torque as is. On Pontiac G6 convertible models, horsepower was rated at 217. Applications: 2006–2009 Chevrolet Impala 2006–2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2007–2010 Chevrolet Malibu/Chevrolet Malibu Maxx 2007–2009 Saturn Aura 2007–2009 Pontiac G6 2008–2009 Saturn Vue XE AWD (222 hp/220 lb-ft) Note: GM often refers to this engine in its literature as a "3.5L V6 with Variable Valve Timing".

I have talked to Milzy zzp wbody store and the guys on 60degreev6/wot tech.

Parts for the lx5 3500 will not work in the lz 3500 trust me i have done months of research on it

You cant even weld different flanges on any headers that are made for 3100,3400,3800 because the spacing on the exhaust ports are diffrrent. It would be cheaper and easier to make or have made for you custom headers

Update forgot about the old 100k mile warranty.

I gotta get my factory ecm/tcm back in and my factory intake back in and bring it to the dealership

As i have read there is a service bulletin on the head gaskets on the 2006-07 impala 3.5l. I have a 2008 but oh well let them deal with it when i bring it in.

The 3.5 and the 3.9L engines in our cars have an external coolant crossover pipe, that is located on the serpentine belt side of the engine, that the coolant flows threw instead of threw the intake like the old 3.4 and 3.8L engines did.
Good info thank you for the confirmation bart.

I should have it at the dealership soon. Ill let you guys know the outcome.

I priced out the parts and for the gasket kit to do the headgaskets and all the other gaskets plus head studs and what not about $400.

Dont know what direction im gonna go in yet if they dont cover it

Im gettin rid of the car in the spring thats for sure but i ment motor swap or turbo or just fix it.

I feel defeated by this car as of now. I have always turned my cars into high hp monsters and this one i havvent done anything to make big power. But now that i wanna get a gto modding this car to sell it a few months later would be a huge money loss but its a hobby of mine not a business so who knows.

If you still are interested in the spring i will be parting out the car and putting it mostly back to stock.
All parts will go relatively cheap to all my fellow forum brothers

Id love to keep the car as a project and mod it up but i already have

1998 lincoln mark8 pushin over 400hp black on black
And my impala

So i cant justify buying another car to keep at my dads house and barely drive it.

Id like to have a 500rwhp gto or g8 gxp or 300 srt8 to daily drive here in jersey.

Plus this car is just nothing but problems and isnt worth it.
