FWIW and with no practical experience, it's been said that going to a lower gear set (higher numerically), would net better mileage. The theory was that It takes much more effort to move the heavy car with the higher gears (lower numerically), wasting more gas. I'd just stay with what you've got, 3.08's.

Not buy much, if at all.

You may gain a little on the freeway.....but you will loose some in city driving.

My gut says it'll be a wash and that you'll simply lighten your wallet by the amount of the gears and installation.

Unless you're older than 75, you'll just wind up digging into the throttle more and negate any benefits.
