what car do you think would win? i own a 96 impala and when my dad owned the car he said he beat a new mustang gt once before, but i just wanted to know everyones opinion.
P.S.
dont post anything negative about the impala, just because you dont like it. i want to know from someone who actually knows what the impala can do and if its a good competition for the mustang

A Mustang GT will smoke the Impala SS. A 2005 Mustang V6 with a stick could beat a 1996 Impala SS. 2005 V6 Mustangs with manual transmissions run low 15s, and the Impala SS runs low 15s, so it would at least be close. The Impala SS had 260 hp, but it also wieghed over 4000 lbs and had a slow shifting auto. The Impala SS was fast for a full size sedan in the 90s, but they don't compare favorably to new cars.
