should i buy a camaro lt1 for my caprice 4.3l or get a caprice lt1
and what generation camaro engine would fit

it's the same motor......... same HP and torque
and with a few mods you can put in a new LS6

This guy is wrong but not by much. The heads on a camaro/firebird are going to be aluminum VS cast iron on the caprice/impala... the diff is about 30 horse more for aluminum heads.


Either one will work but make sure it comes with the computer.

Aren't the F-body LT1s tuned for 92 octane while the B-/D-body tuned for 87 octane. Different cam with more lift and duration in the F-body for more top-end power versus more low-end torque for the B-/D-body iron head LT1s.

B/D bodies are cammed for more torque. The castiron heads flow 20% more than the aluminum heads. Just something to think about. Any lt1 camaro engine should do the trick and its gona take alot of mods to swap that puppy over to a LS engine and alot of dollars.
