Hi,
I am still looking for the illusive. I have looked at a ss with 409 tags, but no engine! The tag under the hood on the firewall has this sequence of #s displayed as follows:
ST 65-16637 ATL
TRIM-802 R-R PAINT

W2MS 7

L
All I know is the paint was red. Can anybody school me up on what these other #s and letters mean? I can use the help! Bob

RR = Matador Red, mine is the same.

"16637" is the build number.

1 = Chevrolet
66 = 327c.i. (5.4L) V8
37 = Coupe - 2 Door Hard Top
5 = 1965
X ( could be R, A, etc..) Mine is R, this means my car was built in Arlington, Texas. Which is where it still is.
The last six digits of the VIN are the serial number.

Good to know 'Pala is a born Texan.
My mother lives on the west side of Lake Arlington. You can see the lake from her driveway. We like going to Traders Village there off of 360.

I had always thought my Impala was born Texan and sadly recently learned that it was built in South Gate CA.:eek: But like me it got here as fast as it could.:cool:
