In the process of restoring a 1965 impala ss, 283, Purchased two radiators, neither of them fit, the problem is they are too wide for the spacer, it will mount without the spacer, but then the fan is a about 6 inches away and trans lines probably wont reach, Any suggestions?

Seems basic, but I've got to ask: Can you take one of the radiators back and get the right one?

Other than that you could rig something with homemade spacers, like 2x4's (this was me 25 years ago) and such but it sounds very hokey compared to getting the right part.

already took one back, seems all radiators offered have the same dimensions, its not that difficult of a rig, but like you said, its not right

I can't picture one in my head , but are the bracket's maybe soldered on backwards?...I'm thinking you have a braket on each side with upper & lower bolt holes in each one?

They are soldered on there, you can probably swap them around, or have a rad shop do it.
