My elderly neighbor knows i fix my cars alot. He asked me if i can change his rear coil springs on his car. They are coils over the rear axle with a swing arm, it appears. I know some of the older model GM cars just needed the rear lifted and the springs just popped out....Does this model car have that feature or are the springs welded into place??? I couldn't tell by looking at it. The rear of the car sags low. Thanks in advance!!
OOPS!!!! 1985!!!

the springs are not welded into place. There is a free on line repair manual for this car on Autozone .com
In fact thats where i got the answer from.
It goes thru thru the proceedure step by step.

that was the whole horse and buggy model, with maybe 2 hp. Haha....
They're really easy, you disconnect the shocks, and the rear falls down, releasing the tension on the springs.
