Perhaps if you made your question a tad less vague you would get a reply. Also, wait a bit longer than three minutes to bump your post!

Why, exactly, is it that you need to put in a waterpump and what different "types" are you asking for opinions about?

If you are thinking of staying mechanical, Autozone (in Cali- I am not sure what they are called anywhere else) has a lifetime unit for about $120. The last unit I bought from GM only lasted 30,000. I have read info on these lifetime units and they seem to be a better bargain. Unfortunately, they probably only last the same amount of mileage as well.

$120, wow! I bought one for about $40 a few years ago from AZ, not sure about the warranty though since I only wanted the housing (I run a HD Meziere unit.)
Water pumps are not cheap these days, not even the cheap ones are cheap. Airtex is a popular lower cost unit, they had some issues a while back with leaking out the pressed fittings but after dozens of returns they changed suppliers and seem to be ok these days. ACDelco are a bit more but last longer. You can always gut your old one and install a electric water pump as MAESSTRO mentioned he runs. Only had a couple problems with the electrics but still a decent option.

Yeah you can find them cheap. I have seen them $39 at the cheapest but this was a limited lifetime warranty hence the cost.
