08 Impala LS - No longer starts after ruining the BTSI wiring

Hi friends, I'm new in town and need some help and I'm not sure where else to turn. Apologies if I've broken first post etiqutte.

My 08 Impala used to start but suffered from the common issue of the wiring breaking at the BTSI keeping it stuck in park. (2009 Impala LT stuck in park.) I went to try and repair this, however I think my solder job was a poor one and/or I may have placed the connectors incorrectly into the wiring harness, so the black ground may have been slotted into the purple steering column/ignition solonoid and vice versa. I tried to start the car and nothing happened, I reversed the wires, resoldered and now the engine does not turn over at all, the car behaves as though it has a dead battery, and I see the battery warning light on the dashboard.

I've ordered a new wiring harness and I'm going to try splicing the wires together, but I fear I may have broken the car further. My questions are, A. is what I've done likely to have broken something further and if so, what and to what extent :( and B. am I along the right path in replacing the wiring harness and it's possible that repairing this will revive the car.

Thanks for your time.

Before you load up the parts cannon, check the fuses.
