ok guys got a question for ya i replaced a plug wire and put in a thermostat in an 05 3.4L impala, i have done the same thing a couple times before with no problems,,i went and started the car and it tried to run wide open, i turned the engine off, tried to start it 2 more times and it tried to run wide open or close to wide open, i stomped the gas pedal and same thing, i unhoocked throttle cables and same thing, im stumped. forgot the boot on the pcv valve was cracked, will tape it up tomorrow and see if thats it.

Definitely worth trying to fix the leaking PCV valve first. It's possible for the engine to then pull-in as much air as it wants since it's bypassing the throttle control. I would expect it to run lean in this case since the air influx is also bypassing the MAF sensor. Regardless, get that leak fixed and let us know if that resolves the issue....
