Question exhaust pipe rattle....power train covered??

I have reduced my exhaust rattle/vibration down to the pipe,..i can't find anything else that would be making the noise...

I called the dealership, and they are aware of the problem.......i guess they have fixed a few.....

I got on chevy site chat just for the fun and asked if this would be considered on the 5 year 100000 powertrain warranty........but "Julia" would not commit .......i do have an extended warranty ......so i'll be out a 100 bucks......

has anyone had this fixed [i guess the problem is inner pipe separation??]........and has the 5/100000 covered it???.........seems like it should be covered ?????

Good luck with the warranty! Read my GM dealership experience from this morning:

"Clunking" noise from front end on 2012 Impala and the solution - Page 2 - Chevy Impala Forums

Expect to pay $70 just for them to look at it. If it is covered under warranty, you'll get the $70 back - HOWEVER, if you need to use your extended warranty, you still may have to pay more than the $100 deductible as GM dealerships apparently won't accept aftermarket warranty payments for parts as "paid in full" - and you have to pay the difference. What a load of BS.

Just about every other automotive repair shop in the world offers free estimates and will accept aftermarket warranty payments as full payment. Stay away from GM dealerships for aftermarket warranty coverage!!

I've come to realize that "knowing someone" at a GM dealership would be a HUGE benefit! Otherwise, they will just take as much of your money as humanly possible while doing as little work as humanly possible!!! :-)

In case you can't tell, I've had about enough of GM dealerships! ;-)

When I bought my car last month, I was offered the extended warranty. If I purchased it with the vehicle it was a clean extension of the current manufacturers warranty (or so they led me to believe). If I choose to buy the extended warranty before the 3 yrs are up, I was told I have to pay $100 deductible to use it each time.

It truly is ridiculous. Bad enough that GM only offers the 3/5 year warranty on new vehicles, when other manufacturers will offer 5 or 10 years.

As far as dealerships, I could write a War & Peace-sized horror novel about our local 'establishment'. I now deal 45 min out of town. When my free OnStar is up, I'll be purchasing CAA so my vehicle is no longer towed to my closest dealership.

Sorry for going a bit off topic... back to the current discussion.

The last time i had work done was on the 06 imp that i had.......it had a spray of coolant coming off of the pump shaft, i brought it in[also under extended warranty].....i told them what i figured the problem was.......but they worked on the thing for 4 days......on the morning of the 4th day i called and asked if they figured out that it needed a water pump yet.........after 4 days of driving a kia something or other, i got my car back..........

I did tell them that they might need to listen to their customers a little better.....

so i hope they will just get right to the problem this time.......the service rep that i talked to seemed to know about the problem.....so we'll see maybe next week.....
