Thanks, KG! Did you buy the KYB's or did you go with another brand for your struts?

A few other "observations" and/or suggestions (please take this as constructive criticism!):

- I do miss the look of the halos - don't particularly like the orange reflector with a red car either.
- You might want to look into those little "non-foglight bumper, foglight-hole covers" - I think that they would make the bumper look a lot better. I just think the "holes" in the bumper make it look "un-finished".
- Since you have the "stick on" type of window visors, they really interfere with the chrome trim around the windows (it drives my OCD crazy!). I would either black out the chrome trim or replace the visors with the "in channel" type. However, with the WeatherTech "in-channel" visors, they don't make them for the rear windows on these cars. Personally, I actually like the look with only the front visors, but if you must have the rear visors as well, you can't use WeatherTech. Lund does make an in-channel set for front and rear - but I've tried them and they are nowhere near as nice as the WeatherTechs. The Lund design is a little different and still has to use tape to assist with holding them in place. The WeatherTechs don't use any tape at all. They way they are designed, they stay put without the use of tape and could never "fall out". I've also heard of issues with the rear window Lunds "falling out", even with the tape (which is probably why WeatherTech doesn't make them - the rear window design is just not good for in-channel window visors).

Anyway, so glad to see the car with the nice wheels installed - makes a huge difference in the overall look of the car!

Thanks, JT! As far as some of your obversations, I personally love the new black depos. Like I said, my tastes just changed over time and I wanted a more OEM look. I still like the look of the halos, but I just wanted a "clean factory" look. Also, the window deflectors do interrupt the chrome trim, and originally I felt the same way about them you do, but I actually really like the look of how it cuts off the chrome. It just looks slick in my opinion.

And finally, about the front bumper, well, I've got some big plans in the works...

Rear is definitely up there, but they should settle a bit over time. That's how the rear of my car sat after I lowered it down from the lift, but they settled pretty quickly because they weren't new. Definitely interested to see how they settle in over time.
Thanks, Jeff! I'm proud to say the 16s are now GONE FOR GOOD, the SS wheels are permanent this time!

Looking forward to the big plans for the front bumper! I have some guesses, but I'll keep them to myself! :-)

Glad to hear that you're going to leave the SS wheels on all of the time. It's such a waste to not leave them on all of the time! You buy the car (and wheels) to use them - not store them just because of a little snow! :-)

It always cracks me up when people "store" their Impalas for the winter in order to "protect" them. They're frigging daily-driver family cars that are meant to be driven year round - not some rare classic sports car! Drive the damn things! :-)

I missed a question of yours from your earlier post, JT. I did have the struts and all the work done at my favorite local shop, I didn't see the strut install but I was there with them as they did the alignment and everything looked good to me. Car drives and rides great, plus I know these guys well, they've never done me wrong before.

Anyway, yeah don't try and spoil the bumper plans! But you will probably hate me because I do actually plan to store the Payla next winter. I'm hoping to buy a truck or another W-body (possibly a 7th gen Impala) as a new daily.

Of course I wouldn't hate you!!! :-) Just a "difference of opinion", that's all! I've just never been a big believer in "storing" daily-driver cars. Sometimes, I think it does them more harm than good. I've found that when cars just sit around for long periods of time, it just seems to cause more issues than actually driving it - even in the snow!

Still looking forward to the front-end surprises!

I went with the Monroes with OEM spectrum struts and lifetime warranty. I have used several of them in the past and they work great. Also had Amazon prime shipping too!

Went with the same struts. Actually the last three arrived today. One arrived yesterday ahead of schedule. I've never used any aftermarket strut before, so I'm glad you think they are great.

I've had mine sitting in my spare bedroom for a week and still can't install them. Oh the joys of school and work full time.

Yeah and I shouldn't really say "store" either...I still plan to drive it next winter when the weather is suitable, I know some of the dangers of letting sit for so long, so it won't get driven every day, but every few days, weather permitting. Every day the weather is bad I would drive my second vehicle.

Looks great, Bud! I almost miss detailing, almost... not really lol You'd be amazed at how many parents let their kids trash their interior with food, crayons and ink.

Looking good man! I used to really hate my interior but these last few weeks it has really grown on me. I just need to detail mine soon but they are calling for snow again this weekend! Ugh.

Thanks, guys! I really love detailing, it's a lot of fun and the results are worth the time and effort. Plus I don't trust other people to wash my car, so I do everything myself.

@Fizzy I love detailing personally, but only on my own car. I don't think I'd enjoy doing other people's cars. The way I detail, I take it really seriously and spend an entire day on it. Well worth it with my car, not sure about anyone else's!

@KG I had that same love/hate relationship with my interior, that's why I've changed it so many times.

Love the car! Keep up the great work. Really love the interior. Any aspirations to change the stereo out?

If my water wasn't hard as a rock and left water spots every time I washed it, I wouldn't mind detailing my car. Washing it, then having to get the water spots out, *then* starting the detailing process, it's super time consuming. I need to make enough money to get a water softener/filter process for everything coming through the house.... and end my random rant! Haha.
