The mods I've done (and plan on doing) to my '07 SS...

Well, I've had the car for long enough, and have started to make the mods I want to it. And so far, it's coming along rather nicely.

As you may have seen, I have added the old-school small S's from an older classic GM that my step-dad found in a junk yard. These wound up going on the front bowtie, saving me from having to go and buy a new one, or replacing it with the smaller trunk size SS emblem. And I must say, they look good, and the chrome breaks up the gold nicely.

Yes, I know that there was a small piece of the tape backing stuck in that one corner when I took the pic, but you get the idea.

My latest venture was trying to find the right set of headlights for the car. I originally spotted the black ones with the orange reflector on the corners, but then I found the ones that have the clear reflectors on the corners, which better match the chrome/silver of the bulb areas. I've attached them to the post, because I don't have any pics of it (the car...) on any other sites. There's certain people back home I don't want or don't need to know I got this, so they can fuck with it and cause more problems for me than they already have in the past. But enough of that, you'll see them below...

Some of the other things I have planned for the car include (in no particular order...):
*K&N CAI kit
*WeatherTech Floor & trunk liner set
*Flowmaster 40 series mufflers & resonator delete
*A hood scoop - considering I don't have the $800 for a new hood, and that $800 would go for new tires first...
*auxillary transmission oil cooler
*EJ's tinted LED tail lights - in which we are trying to arrange a meet for them...
*Overkill ECM & TCM - the TCM at least if not the ECM with it...
*18" KMC Rockstar wheels.
*possible strut tower braces front and back...

I was considering doing the Doug Thorley exhaust header set and the Magnaflow exhaust, but I'm not rich ( a labor intensive job to install those heads from what I've been finding out...), and I can get the sound I want from replacing the resonator with pipe and having a set of Flowmasters in the back. I'm not looking to go crazy with power, so it pretty much eliminates the want/need for the heads and other engine/power parts. The 300HP it's got from the factory is more than enough for me to enjoy and be happy with.

So the theme is blue and black, with a little bit of chrome here and there. I think so far I'm off to a good start. What do YOU guys think so far??

Will update as things happen!!!

Thanks man! And are you serious??? I might just hold you to that IF I can get a picture, and if I remember to/think of it. But if your serious, I'll work on that for $50 towards the next mod. Your on!!

until you can afford rims you could always plasti dip your stockers to get a diffrent look. And you would have no problem selling your wheels on here when you do get a new set. I am ani chrome, so I say plasti dip just about everything :giggle: I love the color tho :eek:k3:
I'd probably wind up hanging on to the stock wheels, just incase I need a full-size tire to put on it after a blow out/flat. And in the meantime, I'm considering having a portion of then painted, to make them look more like a better looking 5-star without that huge, gaudy center part.

I'll look into the plasti-dip though. I know a lot of guys love that stuff, so I may have to see what all the big fuss is about with it.

And thanks man! I was if-y about the color at first, but it grew on me really quick and I love it now.

Looks real good man.

This weekend i might be driving down to Kentucky for the funeral of my girlfriends family member. If i dont ill be able to meet up but its up to my girlfriend whether or not she wants me to be there.
Long story short i been going to pa every weekend cause she has been taking care of her house on the weekends and the pets when she is home from college cause her mom is down south cause of her grand dad being really sick.

But, we will get together one of these damn weekends lol
Oh, damn bro... Like I said before, family comes first. Sorry to hear about the bad news, and will keep him in my prayers as well.

Yes, we'll make it happen one of these weekends!!! And thank you!

Sorry bro. I'm gonna hang on to them so I got a set to use in the winter AND have a set for a full-size spare should I need one.

Besides, I may have something done with the stock ones to partially paint them and make them a little better looking of a 5-star without the big guady center.

The top wheels look better imo. Less blue and more black. But those should look sick on that blue ss

Thanks man! +1 for being another fellow Jersey member too! I just like the look of the LTZ 18's a little better. Now when I'm ready, IF I can find someone to do the powder coating for them without breaking the bank I'll be set.

And I'm hoping to catch up to EJ for his tail lights before he gets rid of his car... That'll be the next mod I do to it.

Sadly, I'm giving EJ his tail lights back... They blink fast like a bulb is blown when using either the left or right directional. I checked the wiring, and they plug in only one way on the factory harness. So I'm just gonna have him tint my stock tails at a later date, and have him tint a set of LED tails IF I decide on them later on.
you need to get a resistor for it. it's a very easy fix and I know you love those tail lights so its worth it. the resistors are cheap too. im not sure how it works though so you'd have to do some research on that if you still want them.

I may wind up trying to get the resistor and try them again when EJ tints my stock tail lights. If they work with that other resistor, I may wind up with EJ's tail lights after all. But it sucks because they work fine on his car but don't on mine...

When either directional is on, they hyperflash or blink fast like it's telling me that I have a bulb blown out. But yet when I tried the hazards, they all worked fine and flashed normally... I'm guessing that the resistor that's built into the tail lights for some odd reason didn't work, and that maybe I do need that other seperate resistor... If worse comes to worse, I'll be happy with a tinted set of stock tail lights. EJ's are just dark enough to be tasteful with the color scheme I'm going with for the car.

Who knows... either my car is just a finicky bitch, or it's the LED nazi, "No LED's for you!!!" I hope the HID's don't give me any kind of trouble like the LED's...

Aww shit. Wait how do we know this is EJ? Come on ej post more pics of out outside the car.
@g25: Dude, do you REALLY think I'm just gonna take a picture of some random guy? I purposely waited until I saw and met EJ to get that picture. You wanted it and would pay, so I got it, and you pay now!!!

And speaking of fellas, it's been almost a month, and I still don't have that $50 from each of you... If you ARE men of your word, then you'll pay me for future mods for PapaSSmirff. And if you can do it before Saturday, it'll be Birthday money to spend on Papa SSmirff as well. Yes that's right, I said birthday money. Saturday is my birthday, and I'm turning 32 this year.

I think this sums it up:

HAHAHAHA!!!

So as you may have seen in another thread, I finally have the HID's in the car. I got the 6000K's and I love them, with the exception of the shaking they have that is... I ordered 2 sets of replacement bulbs and a second 6000K kit so I can do the fog lights and have spare bulbs. Below is a pic, kinda hard to notice them, but you can kinda tell compared to the glare of a halogen bulb at least...

And I also have another mod that was ordered tonite that should be in the same time. I'll leave it a surprise for everyone until I got it painted and installed on the car. It'll definitely help make Papa SSmirff stand out from all the other Impalas in the area... Stay tuned for more details...

Opps, sorry. Knew I forgot something... Fixed!!!

Is the next mod the window scoops?

(I'm guessing because in the other thread you said it's not a physically big item, and here you said you had to paint it)
And no, it's not the window scoops. I was looking at and thinking about those, but decided against them. I didn't care for the look of them, and they'd cover up the ImpalaFroums.com decals on the sides.

I do have to paint it so it'll match the rest of the black on the car better than just the normal plastic matte black it'll come as. Like I said, stay tuned and it'll be revealed soon enough!

But you are close though, I'll give you that much...

Lights look good!

And yeah, I don't care for the window scoops either.

I know what it is, is the Hood Scoop but you don't got to tell us ;) By the way HID is looking good :eek:k3:

That was my second guess
