Ordered one of these today:

https://www.valvomax.com

I had something like this on one of my cars in the past and LOVED it. I am *so* sick of getting oil everywhere when I change my oil (and all over my hands, etc). I swear, I almost always "miscalculate" where the oil will end up when I remove the drain plug (since it's at an angle, you have to guess how far it will shoot out). :-) These types of things make it *so* quick and easy...

This seems to be the best design and cheapest of the bunch. Unfortunately, there is a 6-8 week delivery time because it's a new product and they are getting overwhelmed with orders, but I can wait (similar design from another company would cost almost $60 compared to $30 for this one).

Here is a video review of it was well:

that's a sweet product. is it a 30 dollar product....ehh.....i was about to buy one then the sticker price shocked me....had this been a 10 or 15 dollar product i'd have been all over it.and my other fear is if you put this on and go to a shop for an oil change (forgetting to tell them how it works) and they either replace it with a factory plug or steal it on you...then you're buying another one anyways.

To me, it's well worth $30. I *always* change my own oil and this will just make it that much quicker, easier and less messy. :-) Plus there is no risk of stripping the bolt (or even worse, the oil pan itself). Just seems like a no-brainer if you change your own oil all of the time.

I *did* however get "sticker shock" when I looked up a competitor - it's the "Unique Drain Plugs" version:

http://www.uniquedrainplugs.com/prod...-plug-12mm-175

I was going to pay the $39 just so I didn't have to wait as long, until I found out that the "hose side" of it is NOT included and cost an extra $17 on top of the $39! :-) So you're looking at $56 for this one - and it's basically the same exact thing (I actually like the Valvomax version a little better).

I painted my stock LTZ wheels black, but left the center caps the same. Didn't add clear coat, so I'll see how long this job lasts.

Installed coilovers on all 4 corners, plugged up a nail in my brand new tires, and fixed a reverse light bulb that was out

Took it through a no touch car wash just to get that damn pollen off and I was shocked at how well the car wash worked. Car looked great. Also checked the taillight I was having leak issues with when I found out 1 of the nuts holding it on was missing and saw no leakage at all. Glad that was fixed easily.

What did you do to your Impala today?

Yesterday got a car wash, changed the oil, rotated the tires, and raised the rear ride height a little. It still needs an inch or 2 in the rear to have that aggressive stance.

Note the straight pic @impaler

Got a little busy this week.

I ordered the black honey comb grilles off ebay since they had 15% off $50 or more coupon. The grilles were $71 but after the coupon it came to $61 which was okay in my mind.

I then realized the grilles were missing the chevy bowtie so I went to the junkyard and found a bowtie on the back of an Impala. Cut it off with my knife, as that was all available to me. Didnt mess up the bowtie or junkyard car.

This is where things got fun. I had to spend a good half an hour removing the existing gorilla tape on the back. Then I went and got new gorilla tape and plasti dip from walmart. Plastidipped the bowtie black (my first dip), it came out pretty good. Then re-applied tape.

While I was at it I redid the stering wheel bowtie in black as well.

Finally, I sit and wait for the grilles to show up in the mail so I can attach the bow tie and replace the gray (silver?) honeycomb on my car.

I've done a few things in the last week or so...

1) Installed an Ultragauge, it's a small (and I mean small) screen that displays real-time vehicular information

2) Got an alignment done, the lifetime alignment at Firestone is *stupid* worth it

3) Installed a set of BEAMTECH low beam headlights

4) Washed it... twice... THERE'S SO MUCH POLLEN!!!
