CinRed's 2011 LT Mod Thread

This is where I'll post all of my mods as they happen.
I'm going to work on the free or as close to it as possible mods first.
Starting today w/ something cheap/free & easy

Removed my E85 & IMPALA LT emblems from the trunk today.

Super easy!
Used the line out of my daughters Minnie Mouse rod/reel maybe 24" worth (10# test if I had to guess).
Didn't break once. Didn't scratch the car either!
The hardest/worst part of it all was Goof Off'ing the adhesive.
When done, I washed the trunk.
Then used "KIT" scratch away on the areas.
Then waxed the areas.

I'm on my way now

Yeah, Im leaving it there until I replace it, so that my new emblem will be centered correctly...

Not a problem sir.
I know it's not much now but as I get to posting more pics/updates it should be easier to follow & it'll take up less bandwidth(?) being in one thread, me thinks.
I've got alot of co$tly idea$ floating around my skull but right now I need to get the kids & myself "school stuffs", then do Birthdays, then Christmas...
Then It's On!!!

I've done alot of "late night" investigating about plasti-dipping...
I don't know that, that is what's on my plate though. We'll see.

There's absolutely nothing wrong w/ that at all.
But:
I hate doing things twice. Like back tracking... It drives me nuts.

I'm more into permanance. Planning it out meticulously, making sure that's exactly what I want;
Then doing it right & being done.

I like it. I also debadged my car rear trunk, except the chrome bar, I removed it and didn't like the holes that were there from the clips, so I ended up put it back on.

There is a lil' vinyl in my future...
but the trim & stuff that I would consider "dipping" will either get paint, vinyl or aftermarket acc. added on.

For instance, after m a n y hours of self deliberation;
I decided once & for all that my grills are getting the Krylon Fusion treatment.
The chrome borders will be black
while the black inserts will be Red.

That chrome strip makes it simple to pick out an Impala on the road from like 250+ yards ( I have good vision) away.
I was thinking HARD about body matching or blacking out mine but I want people far behind to know there's an Impy up ahead ya know?
So for me, it's there to stay!

I'm kind of old fashioned. Even though it's fake plastic, I like chrome. So I kind of like the look.

Well I finally got around to doing a mod.

Thanks to Kevin and his wife, I was able to make the rear of my car Sexay!!!
They sent me the letters off of her new Impy. Thanks again!!!

I AM VERRRY meticulous (some may even say OCD) so being centered, my distances between the letters, and the level are all perfect.
These pics aren't doing it justice, but I'll get some that show it off better a.s.a.p.

Thanks for looking:

Should have been that way from the factory. Have you thought about painting the lettering red to set it off more. I'm anti-chrome, but I think i like it.
