There's a recall for the passenger presence sensor wiring on at least the 09 & 10 Impala.

The defect: the front passenger seat frame may contact and damage the wires of the passenger presence sensor module.

The hazards: if the wires are damaged, the passenger presence sensory system may fail to recognize that the passenger seat is occupied, disabling the air bag. Damage may also cause the air bag fuse to short resulting in a loss of all air bags and seat belt pretensions. Both conditions increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Affected vehicles: 2009-2010 Chevrolet Impala manufactured April 25, 2008 – February 16, 2010.

I got my HIDs, new black housings and "SS" grille emblem on.

Huge difference

Just a fyi if you're wanting to do this mod the door emblems are bigger than the truck so they fit the grille better.

Got alot done yesterday, first off the seatbelt buckle itself was broken you had to press down on it and jiggle just right to get to latch. Super annoying and most likely not safe. So I went to the local yard and got that along with some other misc trim pieces.

Then I put in my LED reverse and license plate lights.

And finally she got a good wash.

I also got my new 4in exhaust tips in the mail to really fill out the bumper cut outs.

Aren't good LED backup bulbs great... You can actually see behind you.

I have Phillips Vision 921 LED in the Impala backup lamps and Phillips Vision 194 LED bulbs in the Impala marker lamps.

I'm running the Sylvania Zevo 921 bulbs in the Cyclops brake lamp, Phillips Vision 194 bulbs in the marker lights, and Zevo 3156 bulbs in the backup lamps on my 2005 Silverado.

Much better light output than the old bulbs. The ZEVO and Vision bulbs are designed to properly use the Filament bulb reflectors so the light output isn't a single point... it fills the housing and projects out similar to the old Tungsten filament bulbs but brighter.

LED bulbs in the turnsignals require mods I'm not willing to do.

I figure the tungsten license plate bulbs are cheap and they pass safety inspection so I'm not going to spend money to make it easier for the cops or anyone else that wants to read my license plates at night.

Just to confirm you didn't have any issues with

in the reverse lights?

and you're using in your lower brake lights?

i've been interested in upgrading to the LED's but didn't want to deal with the issues i'd seen others have. if you have time on them then i'll bite the bullet and try them out.

^^^Those^^^ don't look like the T16 921 LED bulbs I have...

I have the Phillips Vision T16 921 LED Backup Lamp bulbs # 12841B2...

^^^ Very different from the 921 bulbs you found.

These T10 194/168 LED bulbs are in my side markers on the trucks and the Impala.

I have Tungsten dual filament bulbs in the brake/Turn Parking sockets on all my GM vehicles... I didn't feel like playing with resistors. These just work and they are legal and safe.

BTW these bulbs are DOT legal even tho the light output from the LED bulbs is much better.
This is an old post on HID planet about the Phillips Vision T16 921 backup lamp bulbs.

I did an oil change and noticed the battery was not mounted properly, nor was the connector. Well someone put a battery in recently and broke the hold down and stripped the nut to tighten the positive terminal. So I put on a new terminal and got a cheap tie down from Amazon on the battery.

No more DOD! I would like to get a tune but I can't have the car down for a week in the winter to send the computer in. So this works great for now.

This makes the car soooo much better defiantly worth it.
