Youtube stuff First, then car stuff. Also sorry, this is gonna be a long one!!!

Well, I made that Youtube channel I said I would eventually make. Trying to think of a channel name is really hard to do. considering I want to do quite a wide array of things. But its done!!!

I've decided to call the channel Rambit Automatic. Rambit sounds kinda cool to me, feels good to say and ram is short for Rambling 'cuz... Just look at the length of this post! Automatic because I wanted something related to cars while not sounding too specific. Also Rambit Manual didn't feel like it rolled off the tongue as well. Consonant vs vowel and such.

Of course its just gonna be a small little channel where I'll upload random stuff. I will make a playlist of car related vids that will contain the stuff I've mentioned in this thread amongst other things.

I'm gonna start by posting a start up and tour vid of my car. Potentially followed by a little video about myself. Hopefully the knowledge from my Multimedia / Video making / whatever it's called class from like 9 years ago stuck with me better than the name did and pays off!!!

Moving on...

Car stuff!!! Not gonna lie, Aly needs a tad bit of work in the bodywork catagory. I got no modifications planned, just some areas to touch up here and there. Almost completely guided by Chrisfix and things I've picked up from this forum Because everyone here is just awesome and I have no related education... or unrelated for that matter. lol

First things first however is gonna be a quick fix of some rust on my rear wheel wells, maybe a few other places. I'll have to do a little search. I'm sure there will be other spots to work on considering the car is 13 years old.

I'm thinking of at least four bad spots that aren't even related to rust as I write this. No idea where any of this damage came from. Gotta get it in the shop when I finally get back from work. I wrestled with whether (Note to self do not spell Whether like WETHER, Wether has a very different meaning!!!) or not to get the car fully redone in white for a while but after a chat with @RYD SLO and a lil' thunkin. I decided on a new game plan... (Ill do this in point form cuz this is getting long!)

-Get Rust Fixed

-Repaint the portions of the car that were worked on in (as close as possible) factory coloring.

-Do Chrisfix's super clean

Ended up deciding I really liked the colour I've already got and there's too much really nice paint already on the car that I know I can make even better. The price wouldn't be a problem as spending money on this car that I really care about is an easy choice. I just keep thinking that the parts of the car they can paint white in combination with the grey bits they wouldn't be able to get painted would annoy me immensely and I'm not even gonna touch on stripping the car to have it painted.

Anyways, I'm sure there are many other things I could find to ramble on about... I'll touch on those things if or when they come up.

UPDATE!!! The Start up and tour vid update will come after some general rambling...

Although I'm really happy with the way the Youtube channel is going (PS I don't have too high of expectations for it as it's just and enjoyable side project) and I'm happy enough knowing I'm staying consistent with it. I still want to up the production value. Turns out this Youtube thing takes a lot of time and effort! Holy lard the Learning curve!!! Especially combined with the increased workload and stressors that hit me the exact day I started the channel. Not to forget previous things but blah blah blah.

To me, This is a challenge I wanna tackle.

As I'm sure you guys could understand, Probably better than I do. I could make a list of stuff that could be causing me stress (Some of which is Self inflicted (NOT PHYSICAL, Don't worry about that!)). But through this I'm gonna push! I'm gonna be increasing my video output along with other random life stuff. Eh, I work (Selectively) better under pressure anyways. I've Been very happy with the progress I've made through this forum in regards to my car. All thanks to the encouragement and assistance you guys have provided!

Speaking of my car...

HERE IS THE START UP AND TOUR UPDATE
(Caps in case you guys just wanna skim to this part, sorry if it appears a bit obnoxious!)

Long story short, in regards to Chrisfix's super clean that I wanna do, The weather Is either too bright and sunny (Which Chrisfix stated should be avoided due to water spots) or rainy. The conditions prompted a tad bit of frustration causing me to look up car tents. I'd consider the tent a Youtube related expenditure as I couldn't see many uses other than ChrisFix's super clean...

Money I'd like to avoid spending considering how much my path into Youtube has already cost me. (I'm a bit of an Adobe fan). Better than getting a virus or experiencing program issues with something free... Anyways

That will be done as opportunity arises.

The clean is the first condition of the "start up and tour" vid I wanna do which is slowly evolving into something more than I originally pictured. I am so exited!

So yeah, just waiting for the weather, the time and the conditions to align... Just need a long cloudy day... Nothing too exiting with Aly. Other than Cleaning my floor mats (Which remain in surprisingly good condition by the way, Rubbermaid did a great job with theses baby's!) which improved things drastically. Then did some more dusting again.

*Mini update*
it seems unintuitive but I'm gonna do the clean before the rust fix and paint...I think I'll see how the week goes.

Did a full top to bottom spray

Followed it up with a all-round hand wash

and did a (Admittedly fairly mediocre) Bug splat removal job with some GUNK tar and bug remover.

I Was and still am a little nervous in regards to how the tar and bug remover will react with the paint, so I use it super-Sparingly just as a precaution.

Then...........:

Oh well, theres always gonna be another chance.

Bug and tar remover will not affect a professional paint job in any way, except to remove any wax that was on there. Shit, at work, we'll use straight up lacquer thinner to clean marks off of cars, and even THAT doesn't affect cured professional-grade paint. You have nothing to worry about in that regard.

Car looks great!

Thanks!

Come to think of it, the stuff does just say spray it on a sponge and the effected area, Then wipe it off. Instead of a sponge I just used my microfibre wash mitt.

But yeah I guess lacquer thinner would get the job done pretty well!

I've actually found that the best thing to get bugs off the front of a car is Sprayway glass cleaner. Spray it directly on, let it sit for 30-60 seconds, then wipe off with a microfiber. Sometimes takes 2 applications, but it gets the job done better than any dedicated bug remover I've ever tried.

Note to self: Long car wash (2-3 hours) + Muscle shirt - Sunscreen: =-(

Least she's looking pretty and its actually lasting this time!

Living up here in Canada, needless to say. I'm a bit more versed in dealing with Frost nip (Which really sucks) or frost bite (I almost got like twice and I Imagine Really Really sucks!) as opposed to Sun burn (Which as I'm sure you know also sucks).

Quick question; Car Bra or no car bra. I've been looking into it and I've Kinda weighed the pro and cons. Long and the short is, my Co-worker took a picture of the front of my car today. Followed by texting me: Ewwwwww, lol. What with all the bugs and stuff that undoubtedly gathers on the front of my car I don't blame him, I think the same thing when I see that crap. Not to forget how much of a P.I.T.A it is to clean. From your guy's personal experience, Is it worth it and in your opinion would the car still look good? I really can't picture it right now. Even though I have googled pics of it.
