car sun shades

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum
What does everyone use on their rear window to stop the sun shining in baby's eyes?'ve seen all the little suction-cup vinyl/plastic window shades for babies, like Adoric, Benson..don't if it works. What do people do to keep their LO's cool and shaded in the hot summer car?

I know it is more expensive, but tinting the windows would reach the desired effect. Plus it would look better not having something stuck to the glass.

Agreed - real window tint is probably the best way to go - mainly becuase of the heat rejection properties. Plus, it makes the car look really nice (instead of the "suction cup" things that negatively impact the looks of the car).

However, window tint isn't really going to stop the "brightness" of direct sunshine - that is something that some of those suction-cup things may actually do a better job at (depending on how "opaque" they are). Tint is great for helping to *reduce* the brightness (and almost completely eliminating the heat transfer), but it isn't going to completely stop direct, bright sunlight.

the older i get the more i realize the bright light is harsh on my eyes. i wouldn't own a car without tint anymore. your local car shop could show you different levels of tint and should know the local laws regarding what you are allowed to do with the car. i think i paid about $240 for front doors/back doors and rear glass to be tinted on the impala. only paid about 180 for the cruze last year, so shop around and find a place that stands behind their work (lifetime warranty on workmanship was from both companies i went through)
