Yeah, I actually installed Remix OS as dual-boot on my really old PC - it seems to work really well from my pretty limited testing. Since they designed this laptop specifically around Remix OS, it should run even better on this $89 device. For the price, I couldn't pass it up. Right now, I use an Android 2-in-1 device (HP Slatebook x10) for almost everything I do - I rarely use it as a tablet, so I figured I'd pick one of these up. Just a new toy - but at least it's a cheap toy (my wife likes that one!). :-)

I sure hope this device is of higher quality than the 7" tablet I purchased from this company on a whim... When I submitted my ship-to address for this new Android "laptop" device, they offered me an Azpen A750 7" tablet for $49, which I bought.

Man, what a piece of crap the 7" tablet is (and it's apparently one of their better tablets!). :-)

It's fast enough for the most part (runs Android 5.1, which is fine) and the sound is OK, but the screen is just horrible. I've always heard reviewers talking about screen "viewing angles", but never had any issue with "viewing angles" on ANY device I've ever owned - until this 7" tablet! If you look at the screen from ANY sort of angle whatsoever, the colors get all messed up (almost like inverted colors). It's the worst screen I've ever used on any device - EVER. I gave it to my wife to play her Bingo games on and even she doesn't want to use it for that! Just horrible.... I knew I was getting a "budget" tablet for $50, but damn....

I'll let you know what teh device is like when I get it (some time in September supposedly).

Last update - after many delays, I *finally* received this device yesterday! It's definitely worth the $89 that I paid for it. Just to recap, it runs RemixOS 2.0 (which is a windowed version of Android Lollipop aka 5.x) - it has a 64-bit quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage. Unfortunately, the 11.6" screen is pretty low resolution (1366x768) and the screen is a rather cheap'ish TN panel (quality order goes TN, IPS, VA), so the viewing angles are pretty bad, but it does get pretty bright and is clear for what it is. Battery life isn't the greatest (5-7 hours) and the charger is a proprietary non-USB charger (which I hate - makes it so you can't use those little "power bank" devices to charge it "on the road".

RemixOS is pretty cool, as I've been stating - allows you to have fully-functional windowing in Android. Keyboard and trackpad are pretty nice and overall the device has a decent feel to it. It's very thin and lightweight. Kind of looks like a Macbook - that same "wedge-shaped" design

Like I said, definitely worth the $89 that I paid for it. Not so sure it's worth the $159 retail price though. Interesting device...

Typing this post from the device... Keyboard is actually kind of nice since it's full-sized...

Forgot to add pics!

I'm actually starting to like it more and more - again, for the price. Just wish battery life was better... A higher resolution screen would have been nice too. But for $89 for a 2gb RAM and 32gb storage RemixOS "laptop", it's actually pretty cool... Very slim and lightweight. Even has a 4k-capable HDMI port and a MicroSD slot capable of using 128gb MicroSD cards...

So the $89 Azpen Remix OS laptop wasn't quite as nice as I hoped... :-) I guess it's worth the $89 that I paid for it (retails for about $150 though).

However, it really just made me want a higher quality, more functional device... Enter the Onda Obook 11 Plus! :-)

I purchased the Onda Obook 11 Plus directly from China - and I have to say, it is a *really* cool device! Total cost (for tablet and keyboard dock) is about $250/$275. It's a 11.7" Windows 10/Remix OS 2.0 dual-boot device with 4gb RAM and 64gb ROM and a quad-core Intel x5 processor. Also has a 1920x1080 IPS touch screen and an optional keyboard dock with touchpad.

What's really cool about this device is that you can switch between Windows 10 and Remix OS 2.0 quickly and easily on the same device! So now, instead of toting around both a Windows laptop and an Android tablet (I need Windows for HPTuners and some work stuff), I can do it all from one single device. :-)

The screen is beautiful - and the keyboard dock makes it very easy to do real work in Windows. Basically, it can be a tablet or a full-fledged touch-screen laptop. Very small and portable.

If you're into this kind of stuff, definitely check it out! Another very similar device is the Teclast Tbook 12 Pro... Look 'em up on Ebay!
