If you want an auto, go with a race prep 4l60e. Shifts harder and chicks dig 2nd gear chirps.

TH400 should fit. So will a lot of buick/pontiac transes. The locating pins and center upper bolt hole and lower holes are in the same places. Just make a couple of half moon shaped metal brackets to bolt the remaining block holes to the upper ears on the bellhousing. Done that a few times on daily drivers just fine.

moneypit 4l80 with a little work....they are good for higher hp

SSBuickS I know the 700R4 will fit, but you will need to let the computer know you made a change. A T-350 should fit as well, but same deal as the 700R4. Gotta love computers!

what other transmission will fit in my 1996 buick roadmaster besides the 4l60e?

Car is rear wheel drive and I'm just looking to use it in an enduro race so only need a trans that will last 50 laps
