04palaSS Updates! I can't remember which thread I mentioned it in but here is what happened with the base 2005 parts car I got. It was rust free in the areas I needed. It had roughly 250k miles with a bad trans. Some parts went to another SS I have and here is what is going on this car.

For awhile the rear of the trunk floor has not been perfect. I POR 15'd it a couple years ago. What happened was a previous owner spilt a bag of what looked to be softer salt in the rear and it trickled down to the rear part of the floor. It sat like that for years and eventllly make the metal soft. Now its not totally rotted out but its not up to the standards i'd like it to be for this car.

Here is the car being prepped to get cut up

Now I cut way more than I needed but I would rather have too much than not enough

It did have some surface rust so I sand blasted it

Then hit it with some primer

Now I'm not positive when I will actually dig into this but we will see.

04palaSS I got some things done over the weekend, I installed poly engine mounts from intense racing. Defiantly make a big difference and not much more vibration from what I can tell.

I also installed a new fuel pump, the old one was a bit weak and with 270k miles she was due. (sorry no pics of this). But here are some photos I took the other night

04palaSS Minor update, after I put in my rear strut brace the carpet didn't fit correctly which was driving me nuts so I trimmed it and re glued it down.

Before (sorry for the terrible picture)

After all trimmed and glued

Funny you ask that, while it looks cool and may be nice for a dusty vehicle or something to be honest I don't see myself using it all that much. It uses ALOT of soap and I don't see any real added benefit over a regular proper hand/bucket wash.

But I did finally find a tire shine I really like. It lasted a week and a half and it was raining for a few of those days.

04palaSS Beautiful weekend, went to a car meet. I also got a foam cannon I will use later this week. I love how this car is set up and looks now. I am very pleased.
