I'm on a silverado and cruze forum as well but have dedicated considerable time into this one. I find it is laid out reasonably and has a great member base that contributes heavily. I've seen a few senior members whom obviously have an electrical background provide some awesome how to instructions for testing a wiring issue.
That silverado forum just has a weird layout and everything is in abstract form it seems. Makes finding information really difficult.

Impaler and Joes74challenger, thank you guys for the comments and advice.
I was certainly not even thinking phone problem but car problem. This site has proven to be a great conduit for passing helpful tips and known fixes for some of the common issues that may not be covered in the owners manual.

After working in IT i have found a reboot fixes a stupid amount of issues lol. also i had ran into the same issue on my Silverado so i figured it would help out.
think of the car stereo as just a wireless speaker, it's only re-broadcasting what the phone is playing/doing. if the phone can't communicate properly, the vehicle can't play it either. a reboot of the phone is usually my first step (no one thinks to restart them very often so they can go months without a reboot) makes sure the phone is able to use it's hardware in order to broadcast the signal to the car (aside from ensuring bluetooth is turned on).

|impaler||Unfortunately with computers, phones TVs and even cars, sometimes you just have to reboot.|

Perhaps read the vehicle owner’s manual to determine if the feature was inadvertently turned off or defaulted to off, and can be turned back on?
You could also go through the various programming screens to find the feature and toggle it on and off, if still turned on?

2014 Impala LTZ 2LZ voice recognition not working.
Yesterday morning, I noticed my voice recognition not working when I tried to make a call using the blue tooth connection to my phone by pressing the call button on the steering wheel, it said Voice recognition was unavailable. (See photo, button circled in yellow. Promotional photo BTW, not my actual vehicle) I know it worked before yesterday, have used it numerous times with no issues.
Yesterday afternoon, same problem. Push the button but the DIC says voice recognition not available. Only option it gives is dismiss. The blue tooth feature on my phone still works, it will pick up incoming and out going calls as well a streaming music from my phone.
Anyone had this problem before and what might be the fix?
