Exclamation impalaforums.com not HTTPS?

Hi there,

Do any of the moderators here or the site owner have a background in IT? Noticing that the site doesn't have an SSL certificate and its kind of scary not to be able to connect to the site using HTTPS when its kind of expected to be a standard thing on most websites nowadays to keep data secure... not sure if there was one and it just hasn't been renewed or if there is not anyone with the technical knowledge to do it.

I work professionally in IT if there is a need for any help or administration as far as the technical aspects of running the website are concerned (like the SSL certificate).

Thanks!

We are currently working on SSL Migrations for all our sites, though it is a slow process given that much of the site works on custom coding and requires updating to accommodate the HTTPS url change.

That being said, as this forum is pretty much exclusively front facing and does not possess financial data as sites that do require SSL do it is not as imperative. Given what SSL is used to protect we encourage users to follow common password rules, ie don't use the same password across the board etc.

Thanks for the info and fast response! I use complex and unique passwords for everything (got the IT admin paranoia, lol) but was just more concerned in terms of the average user base and just didn't know if this was an issue that was being worked on.

Cheers!
