Will be curious to see if anyone has done this yet. To my knowledge most here that have talked about this say the compression ratio on the 3.6 is not turbo friendly. That being said, there are versions of the 3.6 that are turbocharged like in the cadilacs and camaros.

My 6 year constantly asks why. What adults can learn from 5 and 6 year olds, to listen with your ears and mind open. Hard to learn when you don't listen ......

the transmission is only rated for about 350 hp if i remember right. you'd be modifying the trans very quickly to support it.

I've never seen this done to an 8th gen Impala. People tend to come on here exclaiming that they are going to "turbo" their Impala until they *really* dig into it and see what it would cost to actually do so. It's much more expensive than the cost of the turbo unit itself - and you don't want to get a cheap "Ebay" turbo either. Between the cost of a decent turbo, the installation, the beefing up of the transmission, ECM/TCM tuning, etc - it's a cost prohibitive job. Can it be done? Sure! Is it really worth doing? Not really. :-) And in the end, you end up with a turbo front-wheel-drive, 4-door "family sedan"... I can only imagine the torque-steer!

I hate to say it, but you'd be much better off just buying a faster car to begin with...
