That turbo is a little on the large size for the displacement of the engine, will be some lag to spin it up...but should give good power. For the PCV system, whenever you are pressurizing the intake manifold, you bust have an alternative suction/evacuation source for when in boost operation, and one way checkvalves to prevent any boost from entering the crankcase.

Here is a good explanation, and Overkill can do the tune remotely for you.

That's a nice catch can system, thanks but I'd prefer a dyno/drivability tune

I don't think I've heard of any other 2012/2013 Impala-specific turbos for the 3.6L, but @SC2150 has turbo'd many 3.6L's in other cars.... I think most were probably not transverse-mounted FWD vehicles though...

Look into some of the posts by SC2150 - if I recall correctly, he does turbos with this powertrain successfully to over 500hp...

Not likely.
What *might* help delay things is NOT using sticky tires, but that just means more spinning than forward motion. RWD cars use different trannies, those are pretty strong, unfortunately not the FWD variant. I cannot see more than maybe 400hp being somewhat reliable, but not more than that.

You may want to get very advanced and get an electronic boost controller, so that you can lower boost in the first 2-3 gears.

In the end, though, you *will* dump another 3+ G's into the transmission if you want it to be able to hold 500+ HP, or you will have a car with 500+HP and no functional tranny.

It's all about balance. You cannot increase one side and expect the other end to not need attention as well.

Just your average Impala

Agree. The auto trans (internals are the same as the conventional engine orientation, case is different) torque converter is the weakest link, and to date we have NO aftermarket hard parts to beef it up. We have them living in Camaros and Cadillacs and the SUV's but your pushing it. I do like the intercooler location now. Good luck and keep us posted!
