M90 Gen 3 Supercharger with 167,000 miles

I just bought it from a guy a couple days ago, he said it was fine. I turned the pulley quite a bit, back and forth, pushed in and out, and it felt tight and solid. The mating surface has some scratches from the guy trying to scrape the old gasket off. There's also a bunch of built up carbon in the throat. So my questions are-

Is it time for a rebuild, or should I just go with it?

Should the bottom be resurfaced?

Can I dump gas in it to clean the carbon out?

Pick a question, and answer it please!

Dont dump gas into it to clean it out, you risk effing up the other gaskets, a rag with brake cleaner and some careful cleaning should do fine.

As for the bottom, it depends if your fingernail can catch the scratch it wont seal. You may be able to buff it out with some 2000 grit and wet sanding put a little dawn in the water to make your life easier and do at your own risk.

As for it needing a rebuild. It should need one relatively soon. How much is a rebuild on one of these units btw?

1. i would, couplers are cheap enough, and it wouldnt hurt, gm lists it as unserviceable, but whatever
2. yes
3. leave it, you risk removing the coating w/ removing the gunk.

I have one with 16K on it. I ported it out a little. Rebuilt it. Then traded my car in. I would make you a killer deal. It has a 3.6 pulley on it as well.
