I believe you can feed the blowoff back into the exhaust AFTER the turbo to quiet it.

First question though should be what is your car, signatures really help? and what mods do you already have?

Then what sort of fabriction skills do you have?

Why not swap a SS 3.8L blower motor in? If nothing else the shortblock may be a little more robust and you could still do the turbo if dead set on that kind of boost.

Fair warning though, one time I raced a 04 SS might have had a K&N filter but that is it, at the strip I beat him with my 95 Roady wagon with 180K on it almost no mods to the wagon, maybe a intake resonator delete or other free stuff but no exhaust or anything.

I'm on NAIOA... I have a turbo... I run 12's with basic supporting mods

I would recommend the ZZP Z7 kit for someone who just want to get low 13's high 12's and not have to do any other mods to get there safely... it uses T62-1 Turbo and come with all everything you need for about $3,500, i would suggest the intercooler too so add another $1,000. I your want to go bigger with the T67 turbo you can buy the ZZP Stattama kit... look for high 11's with this kit but also be prepared to replace the trans with the something built for the power (about 5k in parts)

As a FYI... Stay away from the cartunnings company, they make Turbos for both W-body Impala (3800 and the LS4). They are not a good company; sending orders months down the line, shorting its customer’s parts and have absolutely no customer service. Everyone i know who has bought from them has been missing something out of there order

Stop by NAOIA.com, it’s a W-body centered forum and there is tons and tons of information about turbo set ups, top swaps (turning the 3800 into the supercharged 3800) and just about anything else you could want

Not to be an a$$ but he should have beaten you if it was a stock to stock race… Stock for stock the 04 SS is .5 faster in the QTR then the LT1 that’s in in the 95/96 B-bodies… the current ranking of impala quarter mile times 2006+ LS4 SS > 2004 L67 SS > 1996 LT1 SS

Same track same day is all that matters.
Internet times are usually posted without any details far as track or weather and those things make a HUGE difference.

I think you just blindly think the version you have is better. See it all the time, doesn't matter the car or the driver everyone thinks their's is faster and half of them get surprised on track.

A friend who has a cammed Caprice had a co-worker with a 70s pickup a few mods that he thought was fast and wanted to race him. We all met at the track, best pass for the truck was a blistering 16.8. The cammed Caprice was running 13s. Everyone thinks their car is fast, till they run into something faster. My car is quick for what it is, but there are a LOT of faster cars out there.

I don’t have a W-body SS, and I for sure doesn’t think it is one of the top performing car, I also don’t think the b-body is a top performing car with a close to 15 second QTR out of a V8. Looking at just time posted by C&R and Edmonds it 04 SS is faster then the 96 stock for stock... There where article after article about how the new SS didn’t deserve the badgering because it was FWD and its V6 but at the same time was faster then the B-body.

You don’t have to believe me, you won one race vs. a 04 SS, does that mean all 96s are faster in the QTR then the 04's, surly not. You where the better driver that day, nothing more, nothing less

And just to state the numbers... the 06 Impala SS is rated at 14.3 in the QTR stock, The 04 SS is at 14.7... i have yet to find articals/test pages of the 96 running better then 14.8 stock, most of the listed times are close to mid 15's... if you have some please post them
