Great lookin ride, Nick. Just now saw it. The color does the new Impala justice. Great pic.

Looks good, same car i ordered few years ago, we couldnt get together on my 12 to the 14, dealer tried to say my 12 lost like 65% of its value in 10 month and 12K miles lol...

I wanted to do the plasti dip, clear over the entire car.. give it a not shinny finish... still might do it if i find a used one at a good price..

How in the world are you getting that kind of mileage, is that the turbo 4 or the v6 or do you just drive down hill all the time.. lol.. none of mine have ever got that mileage,

65% loss seems quite extreme...although trying to trade only a one year old car most often does take a bigger hit than waiting three years to trade...plus the new Impala is a completely different car for 2014 and that can hurt resale of the older models. Did you only try one dealer..? You can get a good idea of what your trade-in is really worth by checking Kelly Bluebook and listing your mileage and model features. I was fortunate to pickup a couple grand over KB estimated price by having very low mileage on my 2012 Regal Turbo and the dealer's friend was interested in buying it...but I had to leave the Regal with the dealer the day I made the trade and ordered the new Impala. Never done that before..However it worked out well since my Wife and Son allowed me to use their cars if needed.
BTW Impala doesn't offer a 4 Turbo. My Impala is the V6 and the MPG is off the DIC and figured by hand on paper which is very close to the DIC. It is what it is..and I think very good for a large sedan. I would guess that the 2.5 4 cyl gets somewhat better MPG....but,in my experience, the V6 is a very good engine for this car considering MPG and power. Well rounded for what you get. Not a high performance gas guzzler but not a struggling dawg either. My Solstice GXP and Regal were 4 cyl turbos that offered performance and good miliage for such a small engine..but..I sure don't miss the black carbon that the turbo is known to spew out. It wasn't a big problem..but I always had to clean the exhaust tips and some flecks on the back of those cars. Not so with the Impala V6. So far..I have no regrets or disappointments with this car.

oh ok, i was thinking that new 4 cylinder option was a turbo model...

It was crazy, i ordered when the banks first open so the 14 showed up in july of 13, it was the first one they got in and i guess they where in love with it, I cant remember now but i think they wanted $26 or $29K difference which put like $10K in my 12, So i walked. We trade with them all the time, i think they where just trying to make a home run because a few months before my dad got a XTS platinum awd, they sold it $12K back of sticker and then gave him $36K for his 11 camaro on trade in which was nuts.

Ill find one at some point, My problem is this is my daily driver, for work and i never know where im going.. I love black but dont want to wash it ever day, so that leaves the silver like you have and the Ashton gray which i have now.. then i only want black guts so,

that silver you have is beautiful, I didnt get the big wheels because i see a lot of gravel roads, I end up in places i should be in s 4wd lol... joys of insurance work...

I have never gotten that kind of mileage, but im hammer down on the highway, and when im in town working its all stop and go. I got gas this morning and it said my average speed was 19 mph for the tank, went 345 miles on 16 gallons.. Not bad at all but no where close to what your getting.. granted location plays a huge role, im in the mountains, so its up and down up and down.. Now my 08 LT, with the 3500 motor? ( slow one that felt like it had a trailer on the back and asthma ) it got crazy mileage on the highway but no power.. Im talking about hit the on ramp floor it, and finally you just gave up about 80 mph. It had a sweet spot on the highway 79-81 mph. It would go close to 600 miles on a tank all highway..

I'm retired so many of these miles were put on at my leisure attempting to break it in with interstate road miles or back roads with few stops...and less City driving. On interstates I varied speeds usually between 55-65 MPH. After 500 miles on the clock I increased speeds to 55-75 with a few 85 MPH burst passing slower cars. Since racking up 1000 miles on the clock..I don't baby it for gas mileage..but do drive it now as I normally would. Mainly on the open road it seems to be getting 29 or so per tank full..probably 19-22 in city driving. It has increased a couple MPG since brand new with only 4 miles showing. Thanks..I've had many different colors on new cars over the years..but most often prefer a red or silver car. In my view..red is sporty where silver offers a classy appearance yet very easy to take care of compared to some of the darker colors for sure. In the past large sedans were thirsty V8s and any engine smaller was considered underpowered dawgs straining to pull all that weight with not a big increase in MPG. However.. in the last decade or so smaller engines in some car models(6s & even 4s) have advanced dramatically performance wise plus able to increase MPG. Especially very recently. I noticed it in a friends 2012 Terrain with the 3.6. It was nearly matching the MPG in my Wife's 2011 4 cyl Equinox that she had at the time. If you think about it a 3.6 with 305 HP pulling 3800 LBS still peppy and getting nearly 30MPG is quite a progressive change than most offerings of just a few years ago.

Well Iceman, it's a long funny story with a happy ending. We took the whole family on vacation to a Florida beach house Sept. 5th. I had called the dealership before we left to see what my status was on the car. He called back on Saturday while we were still on the road. Says he really messed up the order & somehow got the wrong color, champagne silver. Actually did it twice, on the first order that I had him change the wheels on, & the 2nd.

He said he knew I didn't want the car that was built 09-2 with that color, but now there's a constraint on silver topaz. But, there were 4 or 5 cars already on other lots with everything I ordered in silver topaz, except they all had 20" wheels. He had another car on his lot w/19" wheels they could switch out. All this would be at no extra cost.

I asked where the closest one was. Noblesville, IN. I said I'd had a bad experience with a dealer trade in the past, & ended up with a car with hail damage. He told me I could totally check it over, & if it wasn't perfect, they'd go get another one. I finally agreed for them to get it, but quoted the country song line "my toes in the water, ass in the sand" for a week & a half, before I can check it out.

I went to check it out on 09-15. I test drove the 20" car back-to-back with the 19" car. Dealer man said if it was him, he would keep the 20's, because it really made the car. He also said no extra charge for the 20's. I think he was worried about taking the 19's off a brand new car, and possibly having to come up with another set to sell it. I agreed they really made the car look awesome, & I couldn't really tell a lot of difference in the ride over a rough road. I took the 20" wheels.

I took delivery 09-16. The price was all the same as before, even though I'd say it was a loss for them on the new car. He'd told me before when he gets a car from another dealer, the original dealer gets the holdback. I guess it works out ok if they trade vehicles, but sometimes the other dealer won't trade, but will sell it outright for the wholesale price.

I couldn't be happier with this car. The paint is perfect and beautiful. The body doesn't have an ugly spot on it! Everywhere I go, I notice people turning there heads to watch. From the side view it doesn't look like any GM car I know of. The interior is gorgeous, even the small amount of fake wood grain is a dark gray/black. At night, the lights that run along the inside of all four doors are the same color as the outside of the car. The wheels make the car look longer and like it's flying down the highway although sitting still.

The only thing I would change if I could, would be the chrome mirror covers. If anyone wants to put some chrome mirror covers on their LT in silver topaz, I'd gladly pay them what it cost for their painted mirror covers.

I've only put about 200 miles on it myself. It had 241 on it from the trip from IN. We took some pictures last weekend, and I'm going to post them soon.

Sounds great 1954 Chevy. Outstanding setup and color. I have the same color interior as yours in my silver car. Very happy with it..much better than the lighter grey two tone offered in some other cars. I think you'll also be happy with the 20s (I couldn't tell much difference either). Congrats..and anxious to see pics.

The interior is kind of medium gray seats with light gray piping. Carpet's about the same color as seats. The little bit of wood grain is dark gray with black grain. The band that runs from the door panels across the dash and down around the Mylink screen is dark metallic gray. Chevy calls it Jet Black/Dark Titanium for some odd reason. There isn't much black in it other than part of the door panels and the dash panel area. That isn't really black either, just really dark gray. This make it hard when I was searching inventories for a '14, because most dealers would just put the 1st two words of the interior color on their lists, which was jet black. If there wasn't an actual picture, there was no way to tell. Do to sunlight and different exposures, it still was hard to tell sometimes. I found if you looked at the color of the seat piping you could tell the difference between the light gray and the Mojave which is what the jet black uses.

I got every option available except the adaptive cruise control. I thought the grill was ugly and have never had this option on any car before so it wasn't like I was gonna miss anything. I already had the mesh grill on my "must have" list. You can't use the aftermarket grill w the adaptive cruise option.
