Supercharger for LFX engine?

I want more POWAAAAH. But I haven't been able to find any supercharger kits for my new Impala yet. (I'm not a fan of turbos, even a half second lag is too much for me.)

My question is, is the 3.6 V6 LFX engine in the 2014 Impala the same engine in the Camaro LS? If so, would a supercharger kit for the Camaro work for the Impala? Because I've been finding plenty of superchargers for the 3.6 V6 LFX engine for the Camaro, like the one listed below:

IPF Tuning V6 Camaro Supercharging System Now Available… | Vortech Superchargers' Blog

I know that the engines are mounted differently because the Camaro is RWD, so this might impact the installation? But then again, I've never installed a supercharger kit, so I don't know haha. Does anybody know?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The transmission probably will not hold up to the added power. Per the GM Powertrain web site the Max torque it can take is 280 lb-ft (380 Nm)

Well that's a disappointment. Thanks for the info.

I was hoping to make my own Impala SS, but now that's not possible haha. Oh well.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but the trans will probably have to be beefed up somehow. The only trans that would hold up is the one Cadillac is using with the Twin Turbo 3.6 in the XTS it can take 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) I do not know exactly what has done to beef up that trans. I also think the intake manifold is different between the RWD 3.6L and the FWD 3.6L because of the engine orientation. There may be some other differences such as pulley configuration as well.

I think you have to take the ratings with a grain of salt. We won't know what they'll take until we give one more than it will take. So supercharge away...
