You have a 2015 LTZ with the adaptive cruise control right, Radiochris?

Anyone else with a 2015 see that info on their warranty page?
I do Impaler. Seems i'm covered for another 100k miles or 6 years on Special Coverage 18029 and another 2 1/2 years or 60k miles on Special Coverage N172097060.

Hmm strange. I wonder why mine doesn't have Special Coverage N172097060 listed.

Well hopefully that's a good sign because I don't have any broken sensors

Just trying to figure out which ones are covered and not covered and why.

And it happened to me...

I've been following this with interest, wondering if I'd ever get burned by this issue. The letter from GM, confirming that they'd cover the side detection modules for an extended period, arrived two weeks ago. Earlier this week, sure 'nuff, I was hit by the issue.

My dealer (who is EXCELLENT) took the car in to confirm the issue and has ordered the parts - I'm told there's a shortage of these right now. He also indicated that the replacement "kits" being issued have been updated to prevent recurrence of the same issue. When the parts come in, I'm interested in this. Has there been a design change that makes these things weatherproof, or are these the same modules with the addition of some sort of aftermarket shroud? Or is the kit just made up of the original part plus a big tube of silicone? :-).

Will report back when the stuff comes in - unless someone already has the answer. I did see in the bulletin just a reference to re-doing the connector with as specific dielectric grease. Is that all?

The modules are the same/unchanged from the originals, in appearance anyhow. The wiring harness is longer to acomadate the new plastic covers that go over the back side of the modules that help prevent water and debris from hitting and accumulating on the modules causing damage to or water intrusion into the modules and wire harness connectors.

Cheers, mate. I suspected that this was the extent of "the fix" - thanks for confirming.

Got my check yesterday! Full reimbursement. Little over a grand. Funny...it came the same day I received the letter from GM advising me of the extended coverage. Glad to be done messing with this, but glad I took the time.

I WENT TO THE DEALER AND IT'S COVERED. They ordered the units and said it can take weeks. I recently got the letter from GM and if you already paid to fix it they will reimburse you if you fill out the forms

Just interested to know if anyone has pursued replacement since GM issued the extended warranty on these things a couple of months back. My dealer is still waiting for parts (back-ordered to the manufacturer, I'm told). We're in to our 5th week of waiting, here. Curious to know if anyone has recently got theirs replaced, and how long it took to get parts.

After an 8 week wait for the parts, my Blind Side modules and harness have been replaced. Long wait and living without them was a huge surprise to me how much I needed them with the horrible visibility these newer cars have

Looks like my wait is finally over. Parts are in (7 weeks!), and installation happens tomorrow. Hurray!
