So I changed my mind. I want to upgrade my halogens to HID. Are there any completely drop in kits to do this? What do I need in order to install HIDs? Do I need Canbus or antiflicker harnesses? I have a 2015(newest body style). Thanks.

Been a few years so I am sure options have changed but I used a Morimoto kit on my wife's 2014 and for the $120 could not be happier, went pretty neutral on the color think it is in the 4000s somewhere. I did have to drill some holes.
Her car came with halogen bulbs in HID capsules distribution is great, only other vehicle I have driven that was as good or better was my 2015 Chevy Sports Sedan.

We're you able to use the stock housing other than drilling some holes?

Yeah the capsules were perfect think the hole I drilled was just in a dust cover and was for wiring and grommets were included.

Do I need Canbus or antiflicker harnesses? Does the Impala have a car bus system? I'm also considering leds

Sorry for the slow and pointless reply worked 12s this weekend didn't get online much.

I do not even remember if I had to put the anti-flicker Can-Bus stuff in my wife's car. Like I said been a few years. I might be working on the car today and can look and see if I can figure it out. Few weeks ago she took out a tire in a pothole and well turns out she took out a wheelbearing too, parts are scheduled to get here just in time for it to snow wed-thursday, but 66f today so I am planning to tear it apart.

Yes, put the can bus module in. My set up on a 2018 went from halogen to HID with both starting and can bus modules. Be sure to wire from the battery directly with a relay. Work great except the let light aim is too far to the left. It may not be seated right. I can look up the brand I used. It was about $75.00

No need, I decided to go with LED instead. I'm very pleased. They are stupid bright, perfect illumination and beam pattern. Also, they were completely plug and play with no need for Canbus. Thanks for the info though.

Could you please tell me the brand name of the LED conversion you got and where to buy them? Was it plug and play to go to LEDs? I have a 2019 LT and the stock lights are very weak.

These are the exact set I got. A little pricey but worth every penny. Completely plug and play, no radio interference or need for Canbus harness. They have a perfect beam pattern, and they'll last you the life of the car. Link is below the pictures.

Thanks so much for all your feedback on my question RobHazmat. I really appreciate the link to Amazon for me to go to. I will definitely give these bulbs a try in a few more weeks. I'll get back to you then to let you know how they worked for me.

Just make sure you install them correctly. If you have them facing sideways in the housing your light is going to be all over the place

First I have to figure out how to get at the old bulbs. I looked under the hood yesterday and am not sure where you access the bulbs. There's a lot of stuff under that hood. Nothing like my old 66 Impala Super Sport.

If you reach in behind the headlight, there are little twist caps to turn counterclockwise in order to open(they're a pain in the ass to get to) then you just rotate the old bulbs out and the new ones in. Make sure the LEDs are facing 3oclock and 9oclock, if you have them at 6 and 12 you're gonna spray light everywhere.
