Apparently, the LFX is normally at around 60psi oil pressure
I have installed a Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge in my 2014 Impala. Oil Pressure readings when cold can exceed 100 PSI. When warm oil pressure is about 22 PSI at idle, under load 60 to 70 PSI.

Interesting - thanks for the info on that Wix filter - Wix must have recently come out with new oil filters that correctly match the Pf63E specs. We were discussing this same subject a while back and even the Wix site was still cross-referencing the 57045. It was @Maven (GM tech) that recommended the 57052 since it meets the same specs (even though it's listed for Fords). But obviously, if Wix now has filters that actually match the newer specs listed specifically for the Impala then I would go with them.

Here is the discussion we had about this subject a while back - more of the same that is in this thread:

https://www.impalaforums.com/chevy-i...omparison.html

I just checked a few other cross-reference sites and some cross-refernce to the 57052, some to the 57045 and I found one (other than the Wix site itself) that cross-refernces to the new filters.

What a freaking mess.... I have never seen so much confusion for a freaking oil filter... :-)

Regarding the oil pressures - obviously, that has nothing to do with the oil pressure at the oil filter or else it would always be bypassing... I was wondering what the normal pressure is at the oil filter. Any idea what that is?

There really is no info for that. My gauge is connected at the same port as the factory oil pressure sensor. I had to get a special tee fitting so that I could use the Autometer sensor and keep the factory sensor in place for the computer to continue to use. The sensor actually is located just to the left of the oil filter and screws into the oil filter adapter. I am not sure if it is reading pressure from the output side or the input side of the filter.

My eyes have become detached. This is a dilemma ...kinda. Monday will be an interesting day, I just hope they do not come up with a brand I've not learned about here. I baby my car. I cleaned the darn dirty under hood by hand! It winks at me. And all the hoses look great.

I received a response from my inquiry to Mobil about the Mobil 1 Oil Filters for the Impala.

The M1-212 has a 18-24 by-pass opening pressure. The M1-212A has a 22-28 by-pass opening pressure.

It would seem to be the proper spec or close to it.
