Front End Noise on Highway

I bought a 2017 Impala LT Fleet from Hertz with 49,000 miles. I bought four new Firestone tires and at 60 MPH there's a noise that makes a drone, humming noise. I can feel it in the gas pedal and steering wheel. Firestone checked the tires and no play on the tires. They think it's a bearing, transmission, front end alignment needs adjusted but the noise only makes it on the highway. Need help what it is because it's annoying driving on the highway.

You can check and probably rule out the wheel bearings by lifting with a jack one side at a time and trying to feel for play when moving/rocking the tire/wheel up and down with your hands. Be sure the car is secure, use jack stands or a substantial floor jack. Play may be minimal, you don't want to move side to side as that may be tie rod or other issues. While it would seem the mileage is low for a wheel bearing issue, it is a common part to wear on these cars and with not knowing the previous history would be worth checking.

That being said, wheel bearing issues typically will give more noise and feel in turns but ruling them out as the problem could move on to other potential issues. Doubt the transmission would be the cause, but would not hurt to drain and change the trans fluid. It is a simple drain and refill, no filter.

My 6 year constantly asks why. What adults can learn from 5 and 6 year olds, to listen with your ears and mind open. Hard to learn when you don't listen ......

Noise and vibration in pedal and steering wheel at a certain MPH, this case 60ish, would make me believe they did a piss poor job balancing the tires. Unless you are going over 60 on rural roads than you will only feel it on the highway.
