Reverse LEDs stay on

Hello everyone I'm proud to say I'm an owner of a 2014 impala LTZ. GM really took things to another level with the design on this car. The only thing bugging me with the car is that no matter how many different led bulbs I buy for the reverse lights I always have a problem. The LEDs always stay on with a dim glow. Has anyone found a way to fix this ? It's a shame since it's a car that screams class except for those yellow lights. Much appreciated in advance.

Manny, compare the bulbs you are putting in to the ones you removed. You should see that the leads or contacts are in a different spot than the stock ones. This is because most manufacturers use the 7443 and 7440 bulb as the same thing. These are the ones I used, as you can see they only have 2 leads. https://www.jdmastar.com/canbus-erro...k=1&mo=9&e=208. If the bulbs you are using have 4 leads you need to flip 1 per side to the other side.
The following image should kind of clarify it.
You need to fold the contacts over so they will work properly. In the end you should have 1 or a group of 2 contacts on the each side of the connector.

Hello and thank you for the reply. I still can't figure it out. When I install the LEDs they work but even when the engine is off in park key outside the have a faint white glow. Car goes in reverse they light up like a Christmas tree. Car goes in drive they almost turn off except for a faint white glow. It's noticeable. The ones I have are not canbus error free they are regular 7440 LEDs that I bought from the retro fit source. Could that be why ? Thanks again

Could be, not sure on that, hence why I bought the ones I did. Had no issues with them at all.

I am having the same issue. I flipped the leads over as instructed above and still have the issue. I'm wondering, what if I clipped the low beam leads off?

Have you tried flipping them all over to the opposite side of what you have now? Don't think cutting the lead off would work but if you have exhausted all other options and cannot return them I guess it's worth a shot.

I didn't cut the leads, bur I did buy a canbus. What a piece of sh!t! The bulb socket went in funny and broke off when I tried to remove it. I ended up having to take the brake light housing out, which involved partial removal of the bumper. I ended up going back the OEM bulbs and have abandoned the idea of going 100% LED.

I have the same issue. I responded on another thread. I tried the Dynamic Diode 7440 HP-48 Cool White and Sylvania LED 7440 Cool White 6K from Auto Zone, each has 2 pins and not 4 pins and each left the residual light on after the Impala was turned off. I have a 17 Premier. I actually like the Sylvania 6K light color over the Dynamic Diode bright white 6k

It's mad dumb that they are even still using old bulbs and NOT LED's in all lighting on the Impala. Just another way of GM cheaping out on stuff.

So i am curious:
My car is doing the same thing (but only one side). Are you saying there is no cure for this except go back to incandescent bulbs? Has anyone else with the same issue found a resolution?

Thank you in advance,

Here is a link to the Amazon bulbs the post above talks about. Has anyone used them and not have them kill your battery after a few days? I just had to remove my LED backup bulbs as the were draining the battery after a few days of not using the car. Many posts in this forum about the problem, it would be nice to find a bulb that works.

Had them in my "garage queen" for a couple of months now and no problem. BTW, the mechanics at the shop that put the R&P in commented on how bright they were. Remember, be firm installing them. If my arthritic hands can do it, so can yours.
