Turning off Displacement on Demand

Have an '08 SS and was wondering what programmers are out there to disable the Displacement on Demand function? I am running straight pipes and am not happy with the Chinook helicopter sound I get when it runs in 4 cyl mode. 90% of driving is city so I am not concerned about mileage that much, just want a consistent V8 rumble wherever I go, is that too much ask? Thanks for any help guys!

The last thing you see......

I also have straight pipes and my DOD is off but only due to my oil pressure sensor being faulty i have yet to fix it but it does turn the DOD off and it also turns off the remote start.

I would just get custom complete pcm reprogramming and ask for that to be turned off. Going to be better and probably cheaper than something like a Hypercrap.

someone like pcmperformance.com could handle it.

I just got at 2007 Impala SS and want to shut off the Displacement on Demand too - what do you have to do to get this done? Can the dealer just go in w/ a scan tool and do it?

Remove oil pressure sensor. That will do it. Is that a great idea, likely not, but it is the only way I have heard of to do it.

Hp tuners is one of the only ways.

NO the dealership will not turn off your DOD, and if you have any warranty left then it will likely void that too.

Dod off

Ok so school me on the hp tuners - this is all new to me - If I can get my hands on the tools I'm sure I can figure it out - but also thinking I can probably get someone from a tuner shop somewhere? I'm south of Boston, MA - any suggestions?

Was at the dealership this weekend and the Service advisor just about had a stroke when I asked him about it.

Removing oil pressure sensor is a bad idea I'm thinking - or can I just drive around w/ gear selector in 3rd all the time until I'm on highway?

4 cyl sound thru straighpipes sux.

That's what I've been doing for the last two years with my cutout open wide. I've never had and issue.

They exist, but only stay on my computer for show in person. I've done quite a few videos, but most of them will get me into trouble even though they were made is the outskirts of DeKalb County. All I gotta say is thank goodness for the Panavise 809 camera mount.

Why not just wire a switch to the oil pressure sensor. Having the AFM/DOD permanetly off would suck for highway use. Pun intended.

I guess the best advice always goes ignored.

Dont mess with you oil pressure sensor.. Im not even so sure that will accomplish what your trying to do. Im not sure, so correct me if Im wrong, but I though esmiling was TOLD this information by a dealer when he realized his DOD wasnt working. Since he hasnt attempted to get it fixed, how can we be sure that it really is the case?

I think some of these companies deal with you online or on the phone, find out what your desires are, and program a PCM for you. I dont know the logistics (Do you have to buy a pcm and send it to the, or do they send you one with yours as a COR, etc), but its doable and is does often.
