Does 2015 Limited LTZ front engine timing chain cover replacement require subframe dr

Hi everyone,

I’m getting some clunks from the front of the car after a front cover replacement or reseal. I believe it was for the timing chain cover. Any idea if this would’ve required a subframe drop causing the issue. Could the dealer not have re-tightened something resulting in the suspension noise? It sounds like it’s coming from the subframe...it could be something else, but it seems like a new issue after this repair.

Thanks,

Art

This is the 3.6 liter motor? Try to find your receipt to verify what was done.

On the 3.4 liter motor, a timing chain cover would require loosening the oil pan, if not removing it. That in turn will mean some bolts on the passenger end of the motor got loosened. This includes the motor mount bolts.

So, if the same is true for the 3.6, then you may have a motor mount loose which is allowing the engine to shift causing the clunking sounds.

HTH.
