93 Roadmaster Limited A.C. problem

I have a 1993 R.M. with climate control , the A.C. runs all the time even in the winter . In the winter I've been disconnecting the A.C. to deal with it . In the summer if I crack the window the A.C. freezes up within a few minutes . Any ideas ?

FYI , the car was a one owner with 25k on the odometer , now just over 40K . Other than the A.C. problem the car runs like new .

Just off the top of my head I would say that the thermostatic control for the climate or the sensor that is in the dashboard may have taken a crap on you.

The AC pump IS supposed to run in conjunction with the defrost cycle. It helps keep the windows from fogging up on really cold days. If you move the control away from the Auto setting and just go to floor heat I think the compressor will shut down.

Some things are better left unsaid, which I generally realize right after I have said them.

OK I finally found a reasonably priced one on eBay , my mechanic told me he didn't think it's the problem but for $35.00 and a little of my own labor I'll give it a shot . The prices for these are all over the map and NOT CHEAP , I was lucky to stumble upon this $35.00 one .

This morning I installed the eBay control module and unfortunately it was not the fix I hoped for , and what a PIA that little endeavor was . The saving grace to this was I only spent $35 for the part and I can probably sell it back on eBay . It still operating the same way , with the unit on the auto cycle the AC still runs constantly regardless summer winter or what ever . What this boils down to is unless I want the AC on I have to run it on the economy setting or just disconnect the AC in the winter time . I've asked some really good experienced mechanics about this and NO ONE has a clue , I've googled it and searched youtube until I'm bleeding out the eyeballs , and so far I've come up with a big fat ZERO !
