07 Impala engine air filter clips

I changed my engine air filter tonight, and when I unlocked the clips, the plastic housing they're in broke and one of the clips broke and the other bent. We've should I do?

Sheila has probably the best idea, a pick-n-pull junk yard. But, FWIW, here's what I did on my 2007 Impala SS.

I swear, this thing must have been made of bakelite ; the plastic parts of the clips broke with very little force on them - very frustrating.

The long screws were made using all-thread. They appear to be 10-32 . The others are 10-24, I think. The L-brackets were cut down and rounded, and re-drilled. If I had to do it over, I might try to find some stainless pieces. Also, the screws are too long behind the wing nuts - they interfere with removing the box cover. They only need a few turns of thread behind the nuts.

HTH. YMMV.

If your socket set is all the same brand, you might be a city slicker.
