Hi. After 10 years I finally replaced the deck (Pioneer S4000BT) in my Impala. A few years back, I replaced the cabin speakers and added a pair of 400W pioneer 12" subs and matching amp using this little box that runs the signal to the amp from the 6x9's. It worked seamlessly.

This car is a 2002, LS 3.8 non sc, with onstar, RDS, steering wheel controls and police option. Not sure if the police option is pertinent info but thought I'd add it JIC.

Now, I upgraded the deck and it wont power on (fuses are good). I used the basic scosche gm035sd harness adapter and soldered the wires together accordingly (I have continuity via meter reading across all soldered connections). Everything is ran through the deck now vs before. The amp signal wire and RCA's both plug in to the back of the new deck. There is a second, smaller plug with a black, 12 pin male bulkhead connector end that isnt being used with the new deck but did plug into the back of the factory unit. Wtf am I missing or doing wrong here? Please help. And if I need extra parts or a different kit, please mention brand and p/n. Thanks in advance!!!

You need to use the correct wire harness kit for your car. The correct wire harness with OnStar and steering wheel control retention can be found on sights like Amazon.com or crutchfield.com. I got the part found in the link below on Crutchfield.com.
