PLEASE READ! When Posting About Car Troubles

Hey guys. Most of you that have been around for a while already know this, but I just wanted to reiterate for some of our newer members, or people that haven't posted on car issues before.

We as a community are more than happy to help you with your car troubles, admins and users alike. But many posts are lacking the necessary information to get looking in the right direction immediately. This would be:

Year and Trim Level of the Car - Many Impala production runs had mid-year or mid-lifecycle changes in them. What may be a common issue in one model year may actually have a different common issue that displays the same symptoms. Likewise, different trim levels have different options and equipment installed.

What Size Motor Do You Have? - Even though this is usually the most important piece of information, this is almost NEVER posted in the original thread. Some model years have two or three different engine options. We need to know this before we can help you.

Do you have a Check Engine Light or Service Engine Soon Displaying? - If you do, you can take the car to almost any local auto parts place and have the codes read for free. These codes are ESSENTIAL to any quick resolution.

Help us all to help you better.

Thanks.

A quick announcement, this thread is not to goof around in, or shoot the bill, or post questions about auto repair. If you have any questions, start a new thread.

2006 impala

I have a 2006 impala. The display on the dash gives out all kinds of different readings, check traction control, engine hot, etc. This all started at once. I was told that GM had wiring problems in 05' & 06'. Has anyone else had this problem. Also the front brakes want to lock up if you accelerate to fast.

I have an 06 Impala, 3.9, with electrical problems. First the rear defroster fried (the white connector is burnt) and now the traction control, service brake assist lights come on randomly, then the ABS light comes on. I seem to have this problem once the winter cold sets in. I am questioning if something got stuck in the sensor ABS sensor? I had it replaced last winter for the same problem. Cold, snow and ice seem to make matters worse.
