Same here. Huge improvement in shifting, but still get the "confused" shudder. Too many options I guess, I can't imagine driving one of the other optional 8 and 9 speed automatics out there...

Tranny shifts like this becuase it is an old man car lmfao, 7th gen impalas shifted nicer. IF you dont like bogging down around town, or before the on ramp. PULL your shifter all the way down and use manual mode, thats why it is there lmfao. Its a lot easier on the engine/tranny when your shifting (unless your racing lol), than it is to have the torque converter bog down, and not know when to shift. Just my 2cents. MANUAL MODE is also much safer in the city, dont gotta WOT every time you pull out somewheres.

Good advice.

I'm having the same issue with my 2015 ltz.
What can be done?If i go to the Dealer I can see
them not finding a code for the issue and going through
many return visits.Cant they just admit theres a problem
and take care of it?

2015 Impala LT2 54,000 miles

I had a 2012 impala before with the same setup and never experienced a problem with it. I went to the dealer yesterday and bought a 2015 with 54,000 miles on it. I was on my way home and noticed a shuddering when going up hills and a slight hesitation in changing gears. The car is back at the dealer now and they are apparently replacing the transmission. Is this common, or did I just buy a lemon?

My take is, when it's covered under warranty, the dealers tend to swap transmissions rather than repair them. So it might have been something relatively simple, such as a problem with control of the lock up torque converter. They probably could have repaired it, but by swapping it out with a factory re-man unit that's been tested, they have higher confidence in the repair.

My opinion is that to get the good gas mileage the computer is always looking for optium gear, therefore it shifts a lot. I don't think you will get rid of this, it is normal. If it only had 2 or 3 speeds it wouldn't shift as much OR GET AS GOOD OF GAS MILEAGE.
