Where to buy shifter knob for 07 SS?

The shifter knob on my 07 SS finally gave up. The trigger button's small plastic pieces have broken internally. I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. The few I saw on ebay looked totally different then mine. My shifter is the classic black "T" shape with a silver button on the left. The ones I saw on ebay were more like a roundish knob with a trigger in front.

So does anyone know where a replacement can be found for my 07 SS shifter? Will will the other round shaped knobs work?

I am hoping to find something in the aftermarket that will work. Any design is fine so long as it works and costs less then what an OEM Chevy dealer will charge for a replacement.

That is interesting that your shifter is a T-shaped one with the button on the side.

As far as I know, all 2006 and onwards Limited bodystyle Impalas all used the same shifter, which is the roundish one with the button in the front. The only difference is if it is leather covered, or plain plastic.

If your car wasn't bought new, I have a feeling whoever owned the car before you may have swapped out either the knob, or the entire shifter. I have a feeling it's probably just the knob, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, the part number you want is for the "Shift Knob", and they are GM #15224313 (plastic, 2006 to 2011) or GM #22773282 (leather, 2012+).

I remember I bought my leather shifter for my 2008 for about $20 off of eBay. I took a quick look and someone is selling an entire shifter assembly for $30. Either that, or if you have a pick-n-pull near you, they'd be super cheap too.

Hope this helps!

That is some great info. It does help. The T knob being the wrong one might explain why it has been coming loose and out of adjustment a few times a year and needing to be reset. My wife has the car at work with the knob in the glove compartment. I will get a pic of it to post when I can. Luckily the shifter still works with just the push rod sticking up for now. I can post a picture of the rod to for reference. I will look into those part numbers you posted. Thanks.

Wifes '05 has a t'ish shifter with left side button. Maybe someone swapped a '00-'05 shifter.
The stitched leather is a nice upgrade from the bumpy plastic texture, definitely worth the coin.

Thanks again for the help guys. I ordered a standard shifter which fits and works good. I actually think it might be a little easier to find gears with the T handle though. The standard shifter fits better and doesn't need adjustment like the T handle did so its fine. Maybe it will take some getting used to I guess. Whatever. My wife is just happy not to have to deal with that steel shaft without a knob. Here is a pic of the two shifters for reference.

It's probably worth putting some Loctite "Blue" 242 or 248 medium strength thread locker on the screw threads to hold it in place.

I prefer the 248 "quickstix" version of it vs the 242 liquid for small machine screws like the shift knob screw.

that's the standard 8th gen shifter i believe (the knob you purchased). the ltz's came leather wrapped version i think but those have been the only two i've seen. i actually had little issues with that knob other than sometimes i didn't hit the button when trying to move gears.

Leather wrapped was 2012ish or a little later.
The 7 ltz and ss were plastic just like the lower trims
