Lock lugs

I just bought a 09 ltz which has 20 aftermarket rims on it. I'm not sure if it has lock lugs on it as the center cap has about a dozen hex screws holding it on and I don't have many hex wrenches. Ive searched the glove box and trunk to see if the lock lug (if there is one) is in the car but no luck, the dealer said they didn't receive anything with the car..my question is if it does have a lock lug,how do I go about getting a replacement?

Do you mean the car has 20-inch aftermarket rims, not 20 aftermarket rims?

1. Speak to the seller about the locking lugs. If it was a dealer, why did you buy it without determining how to remove the wheels?

2. Buy a hex-wrench set and determine which size fits the hex screws, then carry that size wrench in the car.

3. Remove the center cap with the wrench purchased (see # 2 above) and determine if it has locking lugs.

4. Many dealer service departments have sets of locking-lug nut sockets, which fit every combination of locking lug for a certain brand (GM uses McGuard). If it has locking lugs - see if the service department has a set of master lug keys to remove the locking lug - then replace it with the correct non-locking lug nut.

Well yes if we are splitting hairs I did mean 20 INCH rims I just assumed that whoever would read it would get the jist, but ill be more careful with how I word things, the dealer doesn't have it ,but I bought it because I was thinking along the lines of most rim dealers would be able to obtain or order one for me,i was simply asking because I thought someone might have been through the same thing,I have gotten a hold of some hex wrenches and will be checking within the next 24 . Meaning hours.

Worst case scenario if it has lock nuts and you can't get a replacement key lug, you have 2 choices... Buy a 12 point socket in 1/2" size that tightly fits over the lug... Pound it on with a hammer and remove it... Rinse and repeat for the other 3. Yeah the jammed lug will be a bear to get off the socket but it will eventually come off. Option 2 is to buy a set of special made removal sockets that will get them and rounded over lug nuts off. Sears carries them in store but you will also need a 1/2" extension and a 1/2 breaker bar as well. Third idea is go to a tire shop and ask them to remove the lock nuts and replace them with non locking lug nuts.

Any problems with the 20-inch tires and wheels rubbing inside the wheel wells? I previously owned 2008, 2011 & 2012 Impala LTZ models. The 18-inch LTZ wheels and tires were a tight fit when the steering wheel was turned.

I now own a 2014 Impala 2LTZ with the standard 19-inch wheels and tires. I do not like the tires as they have a short sidewall and enable the factory rims to be easily scratched when driving through a pothole (I live in the Midwest and my County does a miserable job of repairing the roads).

So far I haven't noticed any rubbing from from the 20 inch rims,it isn't my main means of travel and have had it less than a week but the sidewalls are very very short not much sidewall at all lol,but ill let you know if I notice any rubbing but short answer is at this time no rubbing!
